Ukraine’s Depleted Army May Force Chinese Peace Plan Consideration — US Officials
Top US military, intelligence officials, and scholars that met recently in secret believe Ukraine’s wildly inexperienced army will lead Kiev to consider China’s peace proposal after 1/
Ukraine’s entire NATO-trained force has been eliminated.
Replacements are being thrown into battle with as little as three weeks’ training and would need 650 modern battle tanks and over 1,000 armed personnel carriers to make a difference in the anticipated spring offensive.
2/
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky may therefore be forced to accept Beijing’s suggestion of a ceasefire, while the US is “losing influence catastrophically by underestimating Russia” as the global realignment sees more countries find other military and business partners

Good morning, let's visit Morozov Mansion, it was architect Fyodor Shekhtel's first major work, and he used the fee from this project to build his own house in Yermolaevsky Lane.
The mansion was built in 1893-1898 in the English Gothic style. At the time of receiving the 1/
order, Schechtel did not have an architect's diploma; the architect received one in 1894.
The Spiridonovka Castle was a present from Savva Morozov to his wife Zinaida Grigorievna for their 10th wedding anniversary. That wedding made Savva Timofeyevich the subject of 2/
scandalous newspaper publications, and the scandal was unheard of especially for the Old Believer merchants. Fact is that Savva Morozov fell in love with Zinaida, the wife of his cousin Sergei Vikulovich Morozov. He fell in love and stole his relative's wife and got a divorce! 3/
Russia becomes China's biggest gas supplier in January
Russia ranked first in natural gas supplies to China in January 2023, surpassing Turkmenistan and Qatar, China's customs data revealed.
Russia delivered a total of more than 2.7 billion cubic meters of gas to China in 1/
January, of which 2 billion was supplied via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. Qatar and Turkmenistan provided a total of 2.2 billion each to China, while Australia exported 1.9 billion cubic meters of gas.
Earlier in February, Gazprom signed a second long-term gas purchase
2/
agreement with China and said Russia could emerge as the largest gas supplier in the near future.
Gazprom is also currently negotiating to ship 50 billion cubic meters of gas to China via Mongolia, with the pipeline already being engineered.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto has said that his country won’t be pushed into supplying arms to Ukraine. Szijjarto accused the EU of a pressure campaign against Budapest, as the bloc’s ministers reportedly agreed to 1/
send $2 billion worth of ammunition to Kiev’s forces.
“Another war party proposal is on the table: this time Brussels wants to send ammunition to Ukraine,” Szijjarto wrote on his Facebook page on Monday. “The pressure is constantly increasing on us, but we are not allowing
2/
anyone to push us into war,” he added.
Szijjarto traveled to Brussels on Monday for a meeting of EU foreign and defense ministers, in which a $2 billion ammunition deal for Ukraine was reached, AFP reported, citing diplomats. The deal will see the bloc

Electric Cars Unrepairable, Unsustainable — Report
The EV industry’s boom is casting a long shadow on EVs themselves, with many cars going out of commission due to just slight damage to their unrepairable batteries, which leads to a hike in insurance costs that undercut 1/
the supposed financial benefits from going electric.
According to a report by Reuters, the advertised “circular economy” of the environmentally-friendly EV industry is starting to look more like a short straight line, with barely any damage. Still, unusable battery packs are
2/
piling up in scrapyards across the globe.
The swift potential totaling of electric cars also has already led to EV insurance costs far surpassing those for regular vehicles. “According to online brokerage Policygenius, the average US monthly EV insurance payment in 2023 is
