I have to make three travel legs today: home to cardiologist (Sunnybank), cardiologist to doctor (CBD), doctor to home. I have a little leeway on the doctor because she's literally been up to four hours late in the past but the cardiologist needs their gear back
I'm like ten dollars short of the one way Uber fare to the cardiologist so unfortunately I will probably be e-begging all the way there to try to fund the next leg on the fly. Sorry!

A reminder that if the Australian Government's unemployment benefit wasn't the second lowest in the OECD I would not be here! A poverty line payment for the entire time I've been on benefits would have exceeded the amount of crowdfunding I've solicited!

I like that TERFs fucked themselves by running afoul of the linchpin of their strategy: the dominant group's "ew, gross weirdo" reflex
They're supposed to make other people think we're the gross weirdos! Instead, they unmasked themselves as the gross weirdos! Unbelievable!
Postscript to this: I think it's very funny that normal people probably don't think we're less weird and offputting than they did at the beginning of this, but TERFs have intentionally made themselves so much weirder and more offputting that normal people would rather us

Something that occurred to me is that the social precept that men's sexuality is inherently dominant, proactive, acquisitive, and predatory, actually leaves trans women — who aren't "male socialised," but still have that drilled into our heads — sexually vulnerable
A huge part of how TERFs interact at me on this website has been insanely constant sexual harassment and degradation intermixed with revenge porn. I obviously don't like it but I felt very odd trying to refer to it as sexual harassment, even though it clearly was
And then I realised that even though I'm being targeted in ways that fascists only do to people they think are women, I've been taught that my body is male and my sexuality is a weapon, so if somebody stabs me with that weapon that's just what I get for leaving it around

It does seem that this specific brand of fascism thrives best in the places where empire originally sprouted, rather than the places it grew out to — they're going to have to develop a colony-compatible fascism soon enough though
Honestly wonder if Australians' inferiority complex and awareness that we'll never be important is actually working against the fascists on this one. We just don't have the self-confidence to believe gender is something we can forcibly control
I think it is interesting to examine white Australia as a colony because a lot of white colonies have a mythical self-concept of bold explorers or heroic white tamers of the wild; our self-concept is of random people sent here for stealing bread or being Irish

Banning trans women from women's spaces on the basis that they might be predatory men would fail to actually stop predatory men.
It would do so because when predatory men enter women's spaces universally do so without asserting that they are women first. jaapl.org/content/46/2/2…

In a strange coincidence, however, it would effectively keep trans people out of public life. I'm sure this was unintentional.
