Fuck every single American soldier that doesn't explicitly reject empire. I don't care if you're upset your country didn't give a shit about you when you came back. God gave you a brain, you should've used it to know it wasn't your war.
I have a complex relationship with American "veterans" that regret their actions. On the one hand they were mostly poor kids from underdeveloped communities, but at the same time they either raped and murdered indiscriminately, or stood by and let it happen by their peers.
I can't pretend to look into the hearts of the well-meaning ones among them, but their regret and sadness doesn't bring back millions from the dead, depleted uranium from the earth, deformation and cancer out of countless Iraqi children.
There's a beautiful justice when an American soldier shoots themselves for their acts of Satan, but it's a shame they're not taking the people who sent them into that war with them to begin with. Is it in bad taste? Maybe. But try having your country invaded by the US and see.
They bought into the false religion of American exceptionalism, and instead of choosing class war against their own tormentors they became agents of death overseas. I don't think it's unfair of me to expect some effort at discerning right from wrong.
It's cute to think "veteran" suicide is bad, but naive to not realize possibly why said person was so tortured was because he did unspeakable things (including to children!) while fully sober and aware. The only cleansing that absolves is when they actively resist empire.
The only people I've genuinely ever felt bad for are the poor black/hispanic/indigenous sent into these senseless wars. They were made to carry the injustice and violence of empire affecting them everyday at home, and impose it on an innocent population abroad.
The only thing more depressing is the relentless failure of the US left of preventing these crimes of empire.
Eternal glory to the heroic Iraqi resistance that kneecap'd the US and made it a global laughing stock. Multipolarity will finish the rest.
