A short true 🧵 about honor:

Years ago I worked as a bartender, during a shift I heard fighting out front of my bar. I went outside and saw two groups arguing. Then a coworker came over to me and said that someone had broken my car window

I ran over to the two groups and yelled “why did you guys break my car window, I dont even know you guys”

A random guy from one group punched me from behind which totally stunned me.

Then immediately my boss came over and bear maced both groups causing everyone to scatter. My boss made sure to spray the guy that punched me very close to his face.

Everyone scattered so it was just the guy that punched me now on the ground screaming in pain from the mace.

Here was my opportunity: My car had a hole in the window. This guy sucker punched me. Both had nothing to do with me.

So what did I do?

I looked at him writhing in pain and I thought: this guy is on the ground. There’s no honor in kicking him when he’s down. It would definitely feel good. But he just so looked pathetic. And how disgusting would I be kicking him now that he’s down? So, I walked away.

In hindsight I definitely should’ve taken his wallet. I now had a car window to pay for. But that’s more heat of the moment type stuff. Hard to be logical in those times.

So what’s the point of this thread?

I keep seeing the same type of videos with the same group of people stomping on people once the person they are attacking is on the ground.

I was attacked randomly and i couldn’t bring myself to hurt someone on the ground defenseless

There’s just no honor in that
