It was always a struggle for Knives’ to keep Vash safe from his enemies. Vash was his only living relative, his beloved little brother, so everyone who hated Knives’ tried to use Vash against him. Unfortunately, it never ended well for them.

Knives’ had very close tabs on Vash at all times, and even hired a bodyguard (Wolfwood) to watch over the youngster, but sometimes accidents happen. Sometimes Vash does get taken from Knives’ grasp, and this was one of those times.
Knives’ paced up and down the hall, anxiously

awaiting a call back from Vash. It wasn’t usually like him to not answer the phone for more than a couple hours, and when he doesn’t answer Wolfwood usually texts Knives’ to let him know Vash is busy; However, neither of them have contacted Knives’ in more than 5 hours.

Knives’ mind ran wild, making up every worst possible scenario in his head- causing him to panic even more. He would’ve already been on the look for the two if it wasn’t for Legato who was already doing so, which he ALSO hasn’t contacted Knives’ in awhile; making the situation

worse. ‘How could three of my men disappear in over 5 hours? How could my brother disappear?’ Knives’ thought to himself before getting a text message from his phone: “Come to 307 Plant Ave. If you want your sweet little brother back.” with an attached picture of Vash, bloody

and beaten. Knives’ saw red as he quickly got his weapons, telling the rest of his gang where he was going and hoping in his vehicle. The entire way there he sped through town, getting to the building where his brother- and probably two dead individuals- was.

Quickly getting out of his car, he grabbed his gun and walked in the building with his head held high, immediately he saw two estranged men holding his brother harshly.
“Let him go, now.” Knives growled, pointing his weapon directly at the two. Knives’ observed his surroundings,

finding both Legato and Wolfwood on the ground, bloody as well. It didn’t seem like they were dead, only unconscious. ‘thank god.’ Knives’ briefly thought before hearing one of the men tell knives to lower his gun or his brother gets it. Knives’ did as he was told,

dropping his weapon and kicking it towards the two. Carefully knives’ took a couple of steps forward, closing the gap between the men and himself while talking nonsense, deluding his opponent into believing he was giving himself up. Quickly knives’ took out his pocket knife,

stabbing the guy who held his limp brother near, immediately killing him. Knives’ pulled Vash close before he fell to the ground, hearing a gunshot in the distance as the other male dropped to the ground. Knives looked up, Wolfwood staring back at him with a gun in his hand.

“You’re welcome.” the undertaker said, chuckling to himself before pulling out a cigarette.
Knives’ rolled his eyes, “You’re really gonna smoke when you’re bleeding out?”
“why not?” Wolfwood replied shamelessly, “Let’s get going before more of them fucks’ show up.”

Knives’ nodded his head, picking his brother up bridal style and taking him back home, Wolfwood doing the same with Legato.

The three were treated by Meryl and Milly immediately after they showed up. It didn’t take long for Legato to regain consciousness, though Vash seemed

to still be out of it; as he got the worst beating out of the three.
Knives’ sat next to his brother holding his hand as Vash slowly opened his eyes to greet Knives’ with a faint smile. Immediately Knives’ swooped down and gave his brother a passionate kiss, invading

his mouth with his tongue in a swift moment before pulling away. “Don’t you ever do that again.” Knives growled, planting kisses on Vash’s neck and face- causing the younger to giggle. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t of went through that part of town.”
“It’s okay, Vash.”

could say any more Knives’ was on top of him, kissing him once again. Vash moaned slightly by the movement, but kissing his brother back with the same amount of passion. It was normal for Knives’ to pounce on his brother after every time he got hurt, having to claim

him once again like he left him for years.
Vash always loved it, the praise and affection he got after an accident; it helped him tremendously get through the pain. Vash allowed every kiss, hickey, and thrust Knives’ inflicted upon him with open arms. It was love, their love.

It was how they coped with the trauma, their trauma.
and that was okay, because it helped them to know they had each-other again.
