In case you missed it, here's a promo for my next book w/@MayflyBooks,
No Love in War: A Story of Christian Nationalism.
It takes readers through 3 circles of Christian Dominionism, reading the wars religious supremacists wage against the world against their wars at home.
2/x From the introduction:
"For the uninitiated into Christian Reconstructionism and other arms of the Christian Dominionist movement in the United States and beyond, @julieingersoll accurately summarises the central goal of this cluster of political ideologies as ...
3/X 'establishing the kingdom on earth to prepare for Christ’s return required Christians to transform the world/take dominion, a view that became an article of faith for the religious right, which popularized versions of post-millennialism as dominion or “kingdom now” theology.'
4/X Christian Dominionism runs across the theological spectrum, from the intellectually high-minded Calvinist Christian Reconstructionism still popular in orthodox branches of conservative Christianity to the more “Spirit-led” Charismatic and Pentecostal Kingdom Now and ...
5/X New Apostolic Reformation movements currently sweeping the world via such institutions as Brian Houston’s Hillsong Church. And more recently, Ruth Braunstein has recently devastatingly captured the pivotal role of the cultivation of a white evangelical myth of ...
6/X Christians-under-siege by a godless-pluralistic-culture in radicalising this wide range of (mostly white) evangelical Christians to a Dominionist mindset. This myth has been immensely effective in fostering communal commitment and extremist values and lifestyle, ...
7/X ... writes Braunstein, and “despite public infighting, white evangelicals appear to be extremely unified and mobilized, and at the center of conservative power structures.” Yet, we must acknowledge that underneath this façade of cooperation is a pattern of exploitation, ...
8/X ... enacted through violence, not just of Christian Dominionists’ perceived enemies but of the very base that they claim to serve.
It is the everyday stories of this hidden warfare that this book documents.
Where Christian Dominionists live by gluttony for power, ...
9/X ... imagining themselves as soldiers in a war between the righteous and the evil ones, between believers and unbelievers, this book exposes the underbelly of such a narrative, ...
10/X ... the perpetuation of intergenerational violence between aggressors and survivors and everyone in-between within Dominionists’ very own communities.
The histories written about the movements I have been involved in subtly or even overtly erase the voices of women,
11/11
of the marginalised and of the violence done to us. I’ve read their accounts, and I know what is missing. I know what hides in the cracks. I know."
As part of my resistance to the exploitative capitalism of Christian Dominionism, this book will be fully #OpenAccess.
Meet William Barcley, pastor of Sovereign Grace PCA, adjunct prof at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary & RTS Charlotte, friend of Heath Lambert & Trish DeYoung. Why should u know about him? Bc he wrote this atrocity to his PCA congregation about Josh Dornan.
In 2018, Dornan admitted to a kidnapping attempt. "the woman was able to fight her attacker off .. Joshua Dornan was arrested and charged with kidnapping ... Dornan admitted to driving by the victim .. checking her out & having impure sexual thoughts"
In 2023, Dornan was arrested again, this time bc of allegations of sexual assault against 2 minors 10 yrs prior. This case was dismissed, which is what prompted the Rev Dr Barcley's fawning email, urging congregants to "encourage" & "rejoice" with poor, suffering Josh

Hitting kids is a lazy shortcut. It punches down (literally!) duty of care onto the very ones needing that care & patient guidance! The entire community is often complicit, not just parents/carers, since that community is often the ones judging carers when kids are ... being kids
So many times, SO MANY TIMES, my husband and I have had Christian friends criticise us in various ways for NOT hitting our kids, for NOT setting & enforcing expectations entirely unreasonable for our kids' stage/rate of development.
When my eldest was still WEEKS OLD, a Christian childhood friend TOLD ME OFF for smiling & encouraging him when putting him into his carseat. As a child, my son found it difficult to be strapped in anywhere, yet she said my care was "coddling". Babies should "do as they're told."
Public Announcement of a Civil Lawsuit Filed against the OPC
Wednesday, February 14, 2024
The Orthodox Presbyterian Church has just been named in a civil lawsuit ..
... against certain individuals and churches who have been accused of enabling and covering up a situation in the mid-1980s involving the sexual abuse of a child. An investigation is underway.
God’s heart is for the vulnerable in our midst. We are deeply concerned about and take seriously any accusation of abusive behavior in our churches and any accusation of a failure to deal openly and thoroughly with that abuse.
The 7-Mountains-Mandate is a significant movement within Christian Dominionism.
A pivotal date is in 1975, when Bill Bright (Campus Crusade), Loren Cunningham (YWAM) & Francis Schaeffer (L'Abri) claimed to have received an identical mandate directly & personally from God.
Allen Clifton writes,
Politicians/Religious Leaders that openly speak about receiving messages from God, basing campaigns on injecting religious beliefs into their policy making &:
Mountain 1: believe that this nation was founded on Christian principles (Government).
Mountain 2: Social policies which are crafted based on religious ideology that define what constitutes a marriage and when life is created (Family).
Breaking: the state of Illimois has ruled in FAVOUR of Emily Hyland's claim that PCA pastor Dane Ortlund discriminated against her on the basis of her sex.

"Respondent made a finding of substantial evidence regarding Petitioner’s allegation of retaliatory discharge. The retaliation was in response to Petitioner filing a sex discrimination complaint with Employer. Prior to the meeting in which Petitioner was discharged,
Ortlund ...
had kept a running list of all the ways in which he disapproved of Petitioner’s behavior (which
he did not share with Petitioner at any point prior to her discharge) but did not keep any such list for his
male employees. And he had begun keeping track of the list explicitly..
