The idea that protestor vandalism must be treated like terrorism is so bizarre to someone in London or New York or Paris or really anywhere in the West, that this whole high commission tantrum is just showing India as petty and weak.

Indian embassies have faced actual terrorism!

Indian embassies and consulates in Afghanistan were routinely targeted by terrorists and India's response was dignified and strong.

Here a couple of dozen protestors pulled down a flag and broke a window. In London. Which is protest central. And this tantrum? Ugh.

A big part of being a global superpower is that you need to be ready for your flag to be desecrated by those who don't like you. 🤷🏽🤷🏽

I mean if your skin is too thin to not even stomach one dude taking down one flag, you're really not ready for the big leagues.

An actual superpower would respond to this with "badey badey deshon mein..🤷🏽" cos they know they want the London cops and the security establishment to respond seriously if there is an actual terrorist threat or serious attack.

A couple of dozen protestors making a lot of noise and trying publicity stunts outside an embassy in London isn't cause for extra security. By equating it with IEDs and terrorism, you're destroying India's credibility.

Unfurling a Scottish flag on a British building isn't the flex you think it is.

At the very least, since the barricades are gone, at least go spray paint a Scottish flag on the British HC wall. What goes of whose father if you do that? You know the blue in the union jack is the Scottish flag, right? Of course you don't!

All that will happen if sanghis hold #FreeScotland or Free Northern Ireland protests outside the British embassy is British will say tut tut pip pip and move on.

Cos #FreeScotland is an inevitability. That the British government is theoretically open to. There was even a referendum. And there will be one eventually, despite the court blocking it.
