This thread: rhythm dance press conference at #WorldFigure - small medals are delayed because Piper Gilles has not arrived yet Image
Chock/Bates: It was an incredible energy in the arena today - looking around the arena and seeing the thousands of fans, it was really magical. They propelled us in our program and gave us so much energy - it was incredibly fun #WorldFigure
Guignard/Fabbri: It was the same feeling for us - it was a great crowd, great atmosphere. Skating was really easy for us tonight. We worked a lot on both programs, and we were very happy we performed the way we wanted to #WorldFigure
Gilles/Poirier: The crowd just made performing today just so special and so fun. We just really enjoyed the energy in the rink - for not competing for 3mos, it was great to be back on competitive ice. We were very happy with how it went today #WorldFigure
Chock/Bates: There was one moment when we stopped to do our choreo step, and to see them upclose when we were performing was really special and a moment I will never forget #WorldFigure
Guignard/Fabbri: Madi just stole my answer! If you get really close to the crowd, it's amazing how they react and cheer for you. We also had the same moment at the beginning of the choreo step - I even remember the faces of the two women I saw there #WorldFigure
Gilles/Poirier: We don't really remember anything specific, but it was great to see our name on one of the signs from one of our fans - seeing her after not having seen her for so many years was really special #WorldFigure
Gilles/Poirier: We don't look at it as a disadvantage; while we haven't competed in a while, we've also had time to get rest and regather our energy for the competition. We look at everything as an opportunity - we felt really prepared for this event #WorldFigure
Chock/Bates: Having a big training group and the strong support system is integral to longevity and success and everyday happiness. We thrive when we train with our competitors and friends - it makes the day-to-day so much more fun #WorldFigure
Guignard/Fabbri: Sharing your everyday practice with people makes it easier. When we started skating together, we were alone - one of the first couples that Barbara had. There were more teams who started training with us, and it got easier and. you're not alone #WorldFigure
Gilles/Poirier: We've been very lucky to have trained with teams our entire career; it's really important to have athletes around you to support you no matter what. Most of the time, we are the oldest ones; it's really motivating to see them push themselves #WorldFigure
Gilles/Poirier: It's really important to have people around you, because on your bad days, they make it better #WorldFigure
Chock/Bates: Based on the atmosphere in the building, you see a love of figure skating - there's no better place than Japan to experience that. #WorldFigure
Chock/Bates: Figure skating in a great state right now - it's competitive in all disciplines. The programs that have been skated - it's rewarding for the athletes and for the audience #WorldFigure
Gilles/Poirier: Evan really captured all of our sentiments. It's so special to perform in a place that appreciates skating so much - everyone felt that today #WorldFigure
Chock/Bates [re: pattern step]: Well done to Charlene and Marco for their PSt4. There's experimentation of rules in ice dance, and we have to stick around and wait for the meeting to hear about what experiments they do next season! #WorldFigure
Guignard/Fabbri [re: pattern step]: It's not a particularly difficult element, but it's hard to put it into the program and part of the choreography - no matter what the element. It's always the trickiest part #WorldFigure
Gilles/Poirier: The PSt isn't necessarily a new element, but it's existed in different iterations over the year. The structure of it this year allows more time for skating that reflects the character of the dance. They are always challenging because of precision #WorldFigure

Chock/Bates: It feels amazing! I'm still processing everything - it's been a really big goal for us for a long time. It's an incredibly experience to accomplish it here in front of the incredible crowd. They were literally to the roof of the arena today #WorldFigure
Guignard/Fabbri: This medal for us means so much. It's an incredible reward for many years of hard work, difficult moments, ups and downs. We still have to process it, we can't believe we got silver here - it feels really great #WorldFigure

Sakamoto: Ideally, I would skate clean and end with a smile. But I made the same mistake as 4yrs ago, so I'm disappointed. But I was able to recover and add the 3T - so I think I've grown from 4 years ago #WorldFigure
Lee: This season, the first half was very rough. But I tried to not give up and come back. This was my first time at Worlds, so I wanted to come - I achieved everything I wanted to. I brought everything to the audience #WorldFigure

Uno: Score-wise and content, it wasn't all that bad. I had some missteps in the stepseq, and my 4T3T became 4T2T. But I've been working on this SP for the whole year, and I ahve no regrest #WorldFigure
Malinin: I came here to deliver, and I came here to perform and grind it out. I was so happy to be able to put out this performance in front of the Japanese crowd - I'm very happy about it #WorldFigure

Meanwhile, in between pairs practice and the pairs competition, there’s gala practice (!!) - Nathan Chen, Boyang Jin, and Vincent Zhou #Beijing2022
Boyang Jin skating to Westlife’s cover of Sarah McLachlan’s Angel for the exhibition. I thought I was in an ASPCA commercial with sad dogs. #Beijing2022
