This thread: Women’s free skate press conference at #WorldFigure
Sakamoto: Ideally, I would skate clean and end with a smile. But I made the same mistake as 4yrs ago, so I'm disappointed. But I was able to recover and add the 3T - so I think I've grown from 4 years ago #WorldFigure
Lee: This season, the first half was very rough. But I tried to not give up and come back. This was my first time at Worlds, so I wanted to come - I achieved everything I wanted to. I brought everything to the audience #WorldFigure
Hendrickx: I'm really happy to be competing in Japan again. I really enjoyed the audience and atmosphere. Despite the fall on the lutz, I had a really strong FS, and I'm satisfied with it - to earn a 2nd World medal for me and Belgium is an amazing feeling #WorldFigure
Hendrickx: I really admire Kaori for so many years. To compete with her is amazing, to stand on the podium with her is an honor. She has so much speed, the jumps are so big, and I have a lot to learn to be at her level. I admire here and she's an amazing skater #WorldFigure
Lee: I really admire Kaori since 2016. I was really happy to meet her at Skate America this season - and I hoped to get on the podium with her there, but I didn't achieve it. #WorldFigure
Lee: But today I did stand on the podium with her and I'm really happy about it. When skaters get into jumps, they usually reduce speed, and she doesn't do that, so I want to learn that from her #WorldFigure
Sakamoto: Last year, I won an Olympic medal and then won Worlds, so there was a lot of pressure on me this season that I had to overcome. I wasn't able to do that at the start of the season. Looking back, it was a good experience because I overcame it at Natls #WorldFigure
Sakamoto: This season, my strength was the experience that I had. I struggled a lot through GPF, but I was able to improve my form for Natls. Because of my experience, I know there are struggles - even today, I was nervous but I could minimize my mistakes. #WorldFigure
Lee: The 1st half of my season, I had a lot of trouble, esp w my stamina. But going through the struggle, I learned how to control myself even if I feel under the weather. I also learned how to pull myself together; the tenacity was the biggest asset #WorldFigure
Hendrickx: The pressure was new this season. I tried to work hard; I know my 1st half weren't super good, but I kept working hard. For me to overcome it was to enjoy competing more and believe in myself #WorldFigure
On things they want to do off-season that are not skating-related:
Sakamoto: Drive a car for a long distance
Lee: Meet my friends and go somewhere, and musicals
Hendrickx: Doing shows this summer, vacation and search for the sun
#WorldFigure
Lee: Coming into Worlds, I wasn't expecting to get a medal. Getting a small medal in the SP was great. I was able to skate clean today, so it was really exciting. Getting a World medal 10yrs after Yuna Kim is a huge honor, so I'll take it as a sign to work harder #WorldFigure
Sakamoto: I was practicing the 3Lo3Lo today so that I could feel more secure about doing the 3Lo by itself - I did not plan on doing it in my program #WorldFigure

Uno: Score-wise and content, it wasn't all that bad. I had some missteps in the stepseq, and my 4T3T became 4T2T. But I've been working on this SP for the whole year, and I ahve no regrest #WorldFigure
Malinin: I came here to deliver, and I came here to perform and grind it out. I was so happy to be able to put out this performance in front of the Japanese crowd - I'm very happy about it #WorldFigure

Meanwhile, in between pairs practice and the pairs competition, there’s gala practice (!!) - Nathan Chen, Boyang Jin, and Vincent Zhou #Beijing2022
Boyang Jin skating to Westlife’s cover of Sarah McLachlan’s Angel for the exhibition. I thought I was in an ASPCA commercial with sad dogs. #Beijing2022
