Nambooze voted for the draconian Anti-Gay Bill to be passed in Uganda but she is now running to New York, for medical tourism, where same-sex relationships and gay marriage is legalized.
We are both affiliated to the same political party, @NUP_U & #Inclusivity is our 6th core value.
For the 2 decades @Bakireke_B_N has spent in @Parliament_Ug, she shouldn’t struggle to know what inclusivity, equality, freedom, liberty, social justice, …mean.
We can all evolve.
Don’t make our country, Uganda a living HELL with draconian penalties and then you run to safe havens, the Global North!
I will challenge the politics of;
- Laws for thee, not for me!
- Quid pro quos!
- Appeasement, etc which is taking us down a dangerous path. Let’s do better.
I WON’T organize a protest against @Bakireke_B_N in New York City.
I wish her a speedy recovery. I pray she takes time to reflect on my viewpoints and perhaps, she evolves into a more loving, tolerant, & inclusive leader.
Good laws are not made based on emotions but reasoning.
Lastly, it is time for all our leaders to put human rights first and reject the redundant Anti-Homosexuality Bill in its entirety.
@Parliament_Ug wasted our time and tax payers money on this barbaric Bill.
We will never disown LGBTQIA+ people in Uganda b’se of political gains.
