I think reporting on Marge's celebration of a bunch of people who attacked cops on Friday has been unfortunately poor.
Start with this: She chose to visit Jan6ers who are not only better off than many other detainees in US, but are better off than other Jan6ers.
Most notably, Jan6ers in DC jails have access to tablets to make their own defense easier. Indeed, Judge McFadden, easily the judge predisposed to the Jan6ers, made that point just days ago.
Marge quite literally is celebrating people with a history of "terroristic threats," one who made credible threats against two of her colleagues, another who just recently engaged in an armed stand-off with cops.
This is what the GOP values.
Take this NYT piece on the visit, written by NYT's congressional reporter, not @alanfeuer (ALL of NYT's other reporters assigned to cover Jan6 cover almost exclusively Trump related events, which ... should tell you something).
It takes @lukebroadwater 15 ¶¶ of both-sides bullshit before he mentions -- 61 words total -- that the people Marge is celebrating are cop assailants.
But even there, it's horrible reporting.
First, YOU'RE A JOURNALIST. You shouldn't need to rely on @thomasjoscelyn to tell you who is in the DC jail, and you sure as hell don't need to suggest this is some partisan comment.
As a JOURNALIST you could even look at the detention memos which reveals their criminal history
That's bc Broadwater apparently DIDN'T even read Joscelyn beyond the 2nd ¶--and this is an error that really needs to be corrected--Nine of these people are already guilty.
This is not a both-sides thing. It is objectively unbelievable that 12 GOPers celebrated cop assailants.
This is the kind of thing that @lukebroadwater decided to both-sides: a dozen MoCs lionizing the guys who attacked their workplace, 18 of them violently.

One of the people House Republicans are celebrating today, Kyle Fitzsimons, PUT ON A BUTCHER'S APRON before walking to the Capitol to attack cops.
[spelling corrected, photo added]
Some of the other people Republicans are celebrating today have significant criminal records -- like Sean McHugh, who pled down to a misdemeanor "sex with a minor" charge.
Reupping, bc there are still journalists willingly playing the role of Trump incitement mule.
Pavlov's Press Corps: Trump Once Again Got Journalists to Willingly Serve as His Incitement Mules emptywheel.net/2023/03/19/pav…
If we can believe Elmo's tweet trackers, over the weekend @JonLemire was personally responsible for sharing Trump's incitement with 1.3M people on this platform. That tweet remains up, even though it disseminated a false claim.
Even tho it is clear that last weekend's incitement used lies and inflammatory language to dupe journalists into disseminating it, Lemire is busy disseminating Trump's incitement again -- thus far to 100,000 people.
For those asking about the date discrepancy on the surveillance vid subpoena. Trump's team said it was June 22. Beryl Howell made it clear the one that SUCCEEDED was June 24.
What we've got clear proof of is Trump using corporate shell games to dodge subpoenas. That's what they had Alina Habba oversee--she gave a declaration in lieu of Alan Garten, the guy who managed not to turn over emails involving Russia in the Mueller investigation.
For those asking: Twitter is, like TikTok, partially foreign owned, in Twitter's case by the Saudis, Qataris, and a Canadian-based Emirati.
The Saudis already got busted infiltrating Twitter with a spy so they could monitor dissidents. AND
And it is reported that Elmo has given his co-owners (incl the Saudis and Qataris) access to the "Fire Hose" of all Twitter traffic -- that's something Twitter previously refused to share w/US intelligence, that Elmo may be sharing with foreign govts.
As you contemplate the likelihood that Jeff Finley is the informant that Carmen Hernandez was about to put on the stand tomorrow, consider that DOJ has thus far done nothing w/Tarrio's calls to Zach Rehl's wife about flipping.
At issue is that DOJ informed the defense today that one of the witnesses they want to call (Hernandez got Finley's report date extended a week) was an informant from 7/21-1/23.
Note that her filing doesn't say whether SHE called the informant or vice versa.
Remember that back in September, @AramRoston published a recording of Tarrio saying he had spoken to (what is likely) Zach Rehl's wife, and had assured himself Rehl wouldn't flip.
Since August, it has been clear DOJ had very compelling evidence that Trump pulled a stupid ploy to steal classified docs.
Since September it has been clear Corcoran would have to testify or be charged.
This is not new or escalating.
The MOST LIKELY thing that happened is that after Trump decided to steal docs last year and got CAUGHT, he tried to get Kash to lie for him.
That was fine if he was just lying on Breitbart. Not so fine if he is under oath before a GJ.
So let's say DOJ confirmed that Kash (a JD but not functioning as a lawyer) was asked to lie about declassification, including to Corcoran, who basically came in off the street and got lied to.
DOJ (pre-Jack Smith) would have known that since November.
