I’ve been seeing people tweet that all NDAs are invalid now and while I am #NotALawyer I just wanted to note that I’m pretty sure it’s one specific type of NDA — basically only if you were told if you wanted severance you couldn’t say anything about your time at the company.
Definitely check what kind of NDA you signed before deciding it’s void now! And maybe speak to a lawyer!
Also people use NDA for both non-disclosure agreements and non-disparagement agreements which are related but different.
I just don’t want anyone to get in trouble because a tweet made them think it was okay to, like, publicly share proprietary knowledge they picked up during their time working at a company. Because that kind of NDA is def still in full force.
Or, like, the NDA I signed when I sold Fleshbot, or the NDAs I routinely sign when I do consulting work… basically all my NDAs are still valid!

I'm trying to go to Shabbat services more frequently for reasons that have nothing to do with theism (still an atheist, friends) and I have to say that I find the predictable and formulaic ritual of the Shabbat service deeply soothing
You know what prayers you're going to do, you know what order they come in, you know when put the Torah away things are wrapping up; just very calming and meditative to be in that space
For me, personally, a lot of that calm comes from having grown up with this ritual and it being ingrained into me, so I'm not saying that non-Jews would have the same experience (though some certainly do and that's why they convert!), but it's just interesting to observe still
I don't particularly want to invest a bunch of time into thinking about J*nathan Maj*rs today but I will say that several things can be true:
1) There is a long history in this country of false sexual assault/DV allegations from white women being used to punish Black men
2) There is a high likelihood that M*jors will face more serious consequences than Ez*a M*ller did due to race.
3) Strangulation cannot be ignored.
My deep awareness of the ways that the criminal justice system is used to primarily harm Black men is one of the reasons why I do not believe it. But I also think that when someone is accused of strangling a partner, their partner deserves safety and support resources...
There’s a thread going around where a woman completely misses the point of an art project about vulval diversity by talking about how the vulvas that don’t look the way she personally thinks vulvas should must be “mutilated” or not cis women’s vulvas and while I’m not going to QT
I do want to say that while this woman is being *particularly* blatant, over the years I have heard many people — including feminists and other folks who should know better!!! — make similarly fucked up comments about vulvas, often in the name of feminism!!!
Generally speaking: you do not know what other people’s vulvas look like. You do not know how big or small their labia are, you don’t know if they have super visible clits or nearly invisible ones. You don’t know if they have lots of pubic hair or none at all.
It is wild to me to remember that within my adult life there was a period where the use case for Google Maps was that it gave you directions that you printed out and took with you on your trip
I got so used to GPS so fast that I forgot it used to be novel
Like I remember a boyfriend getting GPS on his phone — which I think was a non-Apple, non-Android smartphone, back when those seemed viable — and it just being *wild*, I guess it wasn't until I got my first iPhone in fall 2008 that turn-by-turn navigation started to go mainstream
