Cinematic Lighting course for Blender is about to receive a large (and free) extension pack. Lighting the night scenes is never going to be the same. ๐Ÿ˜œ

Here's a few important facts about it (a thread ๐Ÿงต๐Ÿ”ฝ) #b3d

(1/13)

๐Ÿ”ฝ
Its first chapter features the character model donated to our cause by no other than @w_landgren ! It's licensed under Creative Commons and thus we have a green light to show our night lighting shenanigans using this central #b3d character so to speak.

(2/13)
It adds almost +50% of the content to the original Cinematic Lighting course! It's a hefty extension in other words!

(3/13)
It's coming soon! In fact, mark the 29th of March (next Wednesday) on your Blender calendars, dear creativeShrimps.

(4/13)
It'll have 3 chapters:
1) Image-based Lighting
2) Lighting a night-time Scene in Blender
3) Projection

(5/13)
Each #b3d tutorial has a project file (even a few project files, for Start and Finish) available, so you can actually follow along for better retention of the techniques shown in the videos.

Moreover, we'll go step by step, each step carefully explained.

(6/13)
The third chapter, light texture projection, involves the technique that you'll both love and hate. Love for its visual appeal and... happy accidents it's associated with, and hate for the randomness of its nature.

(7/13)
If you already own the course, this Extension Pack will become available to you on the 29th of March. The videos and the project files will simply appear in your library, whether its @blendermarket or @gumroad. No need to do anything.

(8/13)
If you haven't bought the course and don't plan to, we'll publish 1 or 2 chapters on Youtube later down the line to help bring awareness and hopefully support to the project.

(9/13)
No third-party plugins are required. It's 100% @Blender. Blender 3.5 is perfect for following along.

(10/13)
To fully benefit from this series, you'll need a decent GPU to handle the rendering in Cycles, as we use Cycles a lot. Slower render times might hinder your learning experience, so make sure your computer is up to the task.

(11/13)
The image-based lighting tutorial (Chapter 1) involves a super-fun technique that turns the regular 8-bit images (jpgs and pngs) found on the internet into the high dynamic range light sources. You'll be able to create gazillions of looks in a few clicks in #b3d :)

(12/13)
The fantastic teaser is out. Watch the teaser! ๐Ÿ˜œ
