🧵 I've often seen people ask how they can help in the battle against Fox News' misinformation. Well I've got good news --
Your voice is *essential* in this fight. Here are some actions you can take and resources you can use to push back against Fox + its misinformation:
Media Matters' (@mmfa) Drop Fox campaign centers around getting Fox's leading advertisers to drop the channel altogether.
You can find a handy list of those companies, as well as their social media accounts and emails, on the Drop Fox website: dropfox.com/advertisers/
Check My Ads (@CheckMyAdsHQ) is defunding some of the biggest voices in election disinformation. Last year, they launched a campaign centered around ad exchanges that still advertise on the Fox News digital site.
Subscriber fees are a MASSIVE source of revenue for Fox News -- at *your* expense.
Contact your cable provider to tell them that this is unacceptable and sign up for updates with @mmfa's #NoFoxFee campaign: nofoxfee.com
Truth Tuesdays (@TruthOverFox) is an organization that you might've seen around Twitter. They protest the Fox News HQ in New York every Tuesday.
But if you don't live in NY, don't worry! They have a contact form so you can bring the fight to your town: truthtuesdays.org
But it's important to remember: You don't have to work with particular organizations or email lists if you want to fight against Fox News.
Pushing back against misinformation in your daily life with the people you love is a powerful and necessary act in itself.
This video was the final part of my weeklong series about common myths surrounding Fox News. You can find the entire series in this video on my YouTube channel.
If you learn something new, please share! Misinformation is never okay, no matter the side.
I make videos (and jokes) about right-wing media. You can support + follow my work on other platforms as well!
🧵 It's been a year since Russia invaded Ukraine. Most of the world has watched in horror as Ukrainians lost their lives and homes... but not at Fox News.
Here are just a few of the outrageous and false narratives Fox has peddled about the war in Ukraine over the last year:
Less than two weeks after the invasion, Fox hosts recommended that Ukraine appease Putin by ceding its eastern territories: mediamatters.org/russias-invasi…
While Ukrainians lost their homes, their families, and their own lives, Fox host Pete Hegseth said that all "pales in comparison" to woke culture and migrants in America: mediamatters.org/russias-invasi…
🧵 If you get your news from Fox, this is what you saw this week:
To top off a pretty insane week, check out the filing from Dominion Voting Systems that shows how Fox News absolutely knew it was lying about voter fraud in 2020: mediamatters.org/fox-news/they-…
