The bill includes language that would allow the Secretary of Commerce to take action "enforcing any mitigation measure to address any risk arising from any covered transaction by any person". This language is too broad for a bill that should have on specific purpose. 2/x
At best, this is a poorly designed bill. At worst however, it is a modern day patriot act. TikTok should be banned, but @HawleyMO's legislation (No TikTok on US Devices Act) is better legislation. It does exactly what it says, with no added BS.
