Yesterday was the launching of "Imprenta de Ramírez y Giraudier: A Story of Late Nineteenth-Century Philippine Intellectuality" by Dr. Lino L. Dizon, the local historian of our province Tarlac, who is now Commissioner of the National Historical Commission of the
Philippines (NHCP).
It was an awesome event, because most of the NHCP Board were present including cultural agency heads
Also present, my former girlfriend and Inquirer Tarlac Correspondent Madelle Calayag, Santino Juanatas, Senor Guillermo Gómez Rivera, Senor Pepe Alas, NHCP
Division Head Ian Alfonso, NHCP Executive Director Carminda Arevalo, Historians and professors Dr. Eloisa Parco de Castro and Dr. Marya Svetlana Camacho, Filipina-German Researcher Vanessa Sampaguita Maria Obermair and Vibal's Kristine Mandigma, Rio Brigino-Lim, Connie Josue and
the rest of the gang and many more friends!
It was an afternoon to eat, reconnect and have fun (and panel a thesis proposal defense in between).
