U.P. #Startup Event Turned Out to be Hoax: 2,000+ Startups Lose Over 100 Cr in Shocking Scam! 🤯

A thread 🧵
The #WorldStartupConvention promised to connect budding entrepreneurs with investors and industry experts like Masayoshi Son, Sundar Pichai, and Elon Musk 🧐

However, no one really showed up, leaving the attendees disappointed 👀
Big industry influencers have been criticised for promoting the 'fake' startup event, leading investors to spend money on registration, stay, and travel for no return ❌
The World Startup Convention was initially scheduled from 14-16 January before it got postponed to March 24-26. Attendees flew in from cities like Nashik, Chennai, and Surat ✈️
How do you think this event will affect the startup industry? Share your thoughts below 👇

Have you just started investing and wondering how much returns you can expect from various asset classes?

Well on Day 5 of #navratri2022, let’s talk about the 10-5-3 Rule 📏
This is a pretty simple one, it simply gives you an idea of how much you’ll make from your investments and splits it up like this:

Long-Term Equity - 10%
Debt Options - 5%
Savings Account - 3%
Long-Term Equity options consist of stocks, ETFs, and equity mutual funds 🕐

Debt Options are fixed deposits, debt mutual funds, and national savings certificates 🏦

Savings account returns are the interest rate banks offer you on your liquid money 💵

Navratri is four days old and you’re also four days older since the start of these threads 🧵

So, how should you be allocating your stocks, and why are we talking about your age? 🤔

Because of the 100 Minus Age Rule 😎
The 100 minus age rule is a general rule of thumb that says that 100 minus your age should be invested in equity and the rest into relatively safe assets 🔒

So, suppose you’re 25, according to the rule, 75% of your portfolio should be equity 🌱
This rule aims to reduce your risk appetite as you grow older 🧓

You can also segregate your equity into different categories that match your risk tolerance such as blue chip stocks, high-risk equity mutual funds, etc 🥧

Back with Day 2 of Navratri and another rule of investing for you 😎

You might not be getting pyaaj served, but today you’ll get the Rule of 72/114/144 🧅
Rule of 72

This rule essentially determines how long your money will take to double, be it ‘25 din’ or 25 years, it’ll tell you 📣

Just divide 72 by your rate of return. For e.g., 72/12 = 6 years

If you invest ₹1000 at 12% it’ll take 6 years to become ₹2000 📈
Rule of 114

This is similar to the Rule of 72 but instead, it shows you how long it will take for your investment amount to triple!

Just divide 114 by your rate of return. For e.g, 114/12 = 9.5 years

So if you invest ₹1000 at 12%, it’ll take 9.5 years to become ₹3000 🙈
