Sorry but I think it’s v condescending to talk about Irish players being proud after conceding nine tries at home to a team who were down a player for an hour. Really wish the VM panel would talk about the total lack of investment by @IrishRugby in the women’s team #IREvFRA
This Irish team are being sent out by @IrishRugby to fail. We’ve gone from Grand Slam winners and World Cup semifinalists to barely even also-rans in the space of a decade. There’d be a much heavier inquiry into the system if the men finished even third in the 6N #IREvFRA
You can’t honestly expect amateurs to compete physically against full-time professionals. No matter how willing they are, you can’t just will yourself into being fitter and stronger on the day. It takes serious time and investment that @IrishRugby are unwilling to make #IREvFRA
A single line on Virgin Media about the lack of investment and couched in a non-committal “should the IRFU be doing more?” framing. Would love to see some passion/righteous anger from the panel because there is currently no pressure on @IrishRugby to change #IREvFRA
Want an example of how little the IRFU care about women’s rugby? Look at the @IrishRugby twitter feed. A grand total of six tweets during #IREvFRA (and even that’s generous since two of those were to say each half kicked off). No tweets in the second half of a Six Nations game
