Trump's face right before entering the courtroom to hear the charges against him. #TrumpArraignment
Trump as he listens to the proceedings against him. #TrumpArraignment
Closeup of the previous pic
We may not be getting more pics of Trump since photographers were reportedly only allowed to be in courtroom before the proceedings begin.
Closeup of Trump before he entered the court building
Great pic from Timothy Clary of AFP showing Trump in the courtroom. It's in the story that @CandiceColeNews and I are updating as things develop. tyt.com/reports/7015be…

1/x. Alvin Bragg working to preserve the rule of law by indicting Trump is what every single DC Republican has been yearning for secretly for the past 5 years.
They "hate him passionately" as Tucker Carlson put it. But they are almost uniformly too cowardly to stand up.
Republican elites are in the exact same position they were in following the Capitol Putsch.
"The Democrats are going to take care of the son of a bitch for us," Mitch McConnell was reported to have told associates at the time.
They've hated Trump non-stop since 2015, including his pretend supporters like Josh Hawley & JD Vance.
And of course they should. The guy is a loathsome, ignorant criminal. But he's exposed Republican elites for who they are: craven, power-mad ideologues willing to do anything.
There are many causes of right-wing radicalism, but one that is not remarked upon very much, in my opinion, is aging.
As an example, watch this clip of Maria Bartiromo & Donald Trump in the 90s contrasted w/today.
Their accents, vocabularies, & demeanors are very different.
Please don't infer that I believe that everyone becomes a far-right radical as they age. I'm talking about only some people who seem to have been drawn to the anti-intellectualism of the Republican Party as they themselves have experienced cognitive decline.
There's an additional generational component to this aging politicization as well, which I recently discussed with @pbump in conversation about his book, The Aftermath: The Last Days of the Baby Boom and the Future of Power in America: flux.community/matthew-sheffi…
Thread: Artificial intelligence is more than just hype, but there's still a lot of hype.
I'll be doing several episodes on @TheoryChange about AI and data heuristics. Continue here or click through to watch, listen, or read to this first one: flux.community/matthew-sheffi…
ChatGPT & other "large language models" aren't the only form of modern AI, but the principles are often similar:
-They're based on training data comprised of "tokens," small pieces of data (text or images)
-Training a model means labeling context for tokens
-Models are presentist
-Output is produced by the program finding the context of the input and then using statistical modeling to indicate most probable images & text
-The best analogue is that LLMs are highly sophisticated autocorrect machines
-But it's more than that, however
🧵Stacey Plaskett isn't letting Jim Jordan weaponize stupidity
In case you've had better things to do than keep up with Jordan's clown show, here's my summary of how it's going... tyt.com/reports/7015be…
First, I have to say that the photo in the article is an absolutely perfect pictorial representation of what's happened.
Jim Jordan has serious intellectual deficiencies. He's promised the world to MAGA & seems only now to realize that he cannot deliver. tyt.com/reports/7015be…
For decades, Republicans claimed that Congress & the government were biased against their ideas. Post-Trump, these complaints are the only thing they have left.
From the very beginning of the hearing Jordan & his colleagues have been outwitted & outworked by Plaskett & the Dems.
🧵 I finally got the chance to write about the Dominion Fox lawsuit disclosures. Others have covered the specifics well, so I decided to draw on my background as a former right-wing media strategist to paint the bigger picture...
Despite what some have theorized, Fox and Donald Trump are not actually in control of the Republican base.
The frantic text messages and emails from Fox leaders & anchors show that Fox's business is monetizing mob outrage by running to the front of the crowd.
We've seen this already with Trump's base refusing to heed his calls on candidate endorsements and Covid vaccinations, but now we see that Fox executives and hosts are terrified of losing their deranged cash cow.
