I remember a tweet a while back about how some people see purges as a necessary evil, while others seem to revel in them as the main goal of their politics and this seems to be the second case ImageImage
Sure politics is dirty, but a socialist party executing liberals and socdems has probably lost the plot and is a laughable idea in the 21st century west ImageImage
Person who thinks mass slaughter is only "less okay" and identified as an anarchist Image
Like I'm not some lily livered lib, I know stuff like this is sometimes necessary. But I do not want to see left-of-centre people killing eachother, and purges often degenerate into ethnic oppression or a massive avenue of corruption

TOP 7 Reasons why Hogwarts Legacy is a bad game and you should play Paradox Interactive games instead
A 🧵:
1) Unlike in Crusader Kings, you cannot seduce neither your sister nor your daughter. In fact, the game lacks any incest at all, making it baffling why anyone would play it

While you can ride a bird-horse thing, you cannot appoint him to be your chancellor or fuck him either!
2) While the Harry Potter universe shows blatant lack of respect for native cultures, you were never able to personally wipe them our. But fear not, because Europa Universalis exists!

Similarly, the game's Astronomy lessons are incredibly boring without comet stability hits

Sad day for ex-Yugoslavia today

Legendary Serbian actress Branka Veselinović passed away at 105 - she was the oldest active actress in the world!

Croatian football player and manager Ćiro Blažević also passed away, most notable for winning 🥉 with Croatia at 1998 World Cup ImageImage
Ćiro was also a big believer in friendship between Yugoslav nations, especially Croats and Serbs. He was a famous gentleman, and there are thousands of anecdotes about him, but my favourite one was when he was criticised for taking players to church during socialist rule
His response was "I have three orthodox Serbs doing a three finger cross and four Muslims praying to Allah on my team, the rest I raise as good Catholic boys. I have three Gods on my side- that's why we can't lose!"

I think it's gone under the radar that the Democratic nominee for KY6 is an absolutely deranged tankie who fully supports Russia ImageImageImageImage
Actual Stalin fan too lmao, what is going on in Lexington- this is a red seat, but one that Democrats almost won in 2018 (also most of his replies are filled with tankies, Russian nationalists, Haz/Hinkle type patriotic socialists and such praising him) ImageImage
Guy whose only problem with Rand Paul is that he's too anti-Putin Image

How do these people explain the fact that only states with Republican trifectas are passing these laws Image
I mean I'd prefer for Republicans not to exist too but I doubt Democrats can campaign on murdering 50 million + people Image
Ah yes this totally happened

The Democrats blew like 100 million dollars trying to unseat one of the 3 Republican senators who didn't vote in complete lockstep with Trump Image

This made me think: what was your most wrong idea of a state's partisanship before you started seriously following politics, and why did you think that?

Like, the one farthest from reality
For me it was Iowa and North Carolina

I thought Iowa was all corn and it was as red as Nebraska or Dakotas, I was shocked Democrats were competitive there

For NC I thought was a deep southern state with few cities and a lot of racists so I thought it was as red as Alabama
On the other hand I thought Tennessee was lighter red because it had two large cities, and thanks to Obama and them having large cities and unions I thought the Blue Wall Midwestern states and Ohio were bluer, same with Nevada
