HUD Code Manufactured Homes are, as the name implies, regulated nationally by the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
But these homes are often excluded by local regulations that key in on uniform physical touchstones that make manufactured homes easy to target.
So how can we level the playing field to allow manufactured homes to compete fairly with site-built homes? Well, there are a variety of measures we could undertake at various levels of government: from Congress, to state legislators, even banking regulators.
