Shocked by what I was seeing during the lockdown and quickly losing what little trust I had in media to tell me what was going on, I started digging into source material for myself and these are the conclusions I've come to:
According to a new CDC report,
Maternal Mortality (death within 42 days of pregnancy) has almost doubled in the US from 2018-2021🤯
2018: 17.4
2019: 20.1
2020: 23.8
2021: 32.9
This means 32.9 women died out of every 100,000 who gave birth😢
Globally the US still ranks "very low" but this is a complicated subject and Population data is tricky to interpret so I'll do my best to break down the details
