#1 @JoeRogan is shocked by a study that found ten rivers in Asia and Africa cause up to 95% of ocean plastic pollution:

"If we stop using plastic straws, we're not going to put a f*ckin dent in it unless they do. We're not even close to #1. We're not even close to #6."

#5 @BoyanSlat, founder of @TheOceanCleanup, explains how the 2021 study recalibrated its modeling framework in this thread:

"Most plastic enters the oceans from South and Southeast Asia, but we also see hotspots in Central America and Western Africa."

#6 In conclusion, California politicians may feel good about banning plastic straws, but in reality, the ocean plastic problem will only be solved with a more targeted approach.

🧵THREAD: How to fix the "For you" timeline on Twitter. I see some people complaining that they don't like what the algorithm is showing them, but that's your fault because the "For you" timeline adjusts to what you like, who you follow, what they like, what you click on, etc.
#2 If you want your algorithm to show you what you are interested in, you have to curate your content.

First, only follow the people you want to see more content from.

Second, only like the types of content you want to see more of.
#3 Third, when you see a tweet you're not interested in, click the three dots at the top right of the tweet and click "Not interested in this Tweet."

Then click "Show fewer Tweets from" or "this Tweet isn't relevant."

Over time, Twitter will stop showing you those tweets.
