Been talking about Fernando Diniz's Fluminense today and it's made me want to finish something I started writing a few weeks ago. #FM23 #FootballManager twitter.com/i/web/status/1… Image
This was just based on one specific match. But Fernando Diniz tactics are quite complex. He often changes the shape, roles or personnel. So it's hard to pin down a specific tactic. That's why it makes an interesting article. Hopefully, I can finish it off next week. 4-4-1-1,… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
His actual style of play is much easier to define though.

Positional play: Diniz emphasises positional play and fluid movement among his players. They are expected to maintain their positions relative to their teammates, ensuring that the team is well-structured and balanced.… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Other alternative options for roles could be;

Goalkeeper (GK): Sweeper Keeper (Support) – A goalkeeper with good passing and decision-making abilities, helping in build-up play from the back.

Right Fullback (RB): Complete Wing-Back (Support) – A fullback who contributes… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Hopefully, I can get it finished off though fairly quickly. Just need to get some other articles out of the way first.

Thread

In this thread, I'll talk about how you can train yourself to be better at #FM23 #FootballManager by learning how to identify, spot and fix tactical issues

Training The Eye

When I used to be more active on forums and write more often on my Football Manager websites, I… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
That’s it, nothing more. I don’t even pay attention to what the opposition is doing which is what people seem to get hung upon and confuses the situation. The reasons for not paying attention to the opposition are simple, it will always be different in every match so instead of… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
So what I did was create a system of some kind to help break things up, so I can analyse them in stages. Some of those stages look like this;

Friendly games
Competitive games
15 mins
30 mins
45 mins
Without the ball
With the ball

These aren’t all the stages I use but are… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…

THREAD

In this thread, I'll talk about attributes needed for a few different playstyles for #FM23 #FootballManager

Playing Styles - The Attribute Side Of The Game

It’s not only the shape, roles and duties that you choose that determine how you can play either. When creating… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
Defensive Approach

To play a defensive type of game it is important that your team is able to keep its shape at all times. This will make it hard to break down and mean you are well organised. When playing defensive, if you don’t keep the shape it will mean you have holes in… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
A Normal Approach

A normal approach is neutral and doesn’t concentrate on one aspect more than the other. It will provide the right balance between defence and attack. Meaning the players are less likely to take risks defensively or attacking. So this approach is more neutral… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
