1. Plan it out
Seems pretty obvious doesn't it, but with a few different design options it makes sense to think about which layout to use.
What is going to sit where on the page?
Make sure that the right information is visible to the user in the right order.

2. Choose your colours carefully!

The more mellow the colours you choose, the easier on the eye for the user. You can also be clever with the way that you then utilise colour. For example, anything displaying allergies or sensitivities can show in red.

3. Border Layout in a Border Layout!

What does that mean? Well, you can add a border layout and then add another within it, and another etc. This means that you can control where the data is going to sit on the page or within the field.

4. Manual Layouts

It's a clever layout to make screens look and feel the way you want. Before starting, check the resolution of the smallest monitor which will use the visualisation. This is so the user doesn't have to scroll around the page.

5. Collapsible Columns

Definitely under utilised. If you have lots of data you want to display then this will be the good option. It allows you to use more of the screen real-estate and lets the user expand to view more info as and when required.
