For the very first time, we've been sent accurate scans of the original 251 Ken Sugimori Pokemon artwork to archive in high quality.
the difference is insane.
For over 20 years, the Red, Blue, Gold & Silver artwork of each Pokemon across the internet had inaccurate colors, were often misshapen, and generally VERY low quality.
Thanks to scans provided by @ExcaliburZero_Z, we're finally able to see how they were always meant to look.
@ExcaliburZero_Z Since this is a fairly large undertaking, the process will be as follows:
We're going to be removing all low-quality Red, Blue, Gold & Silver Pokemon artwork from the Asset Archive, effective immediately.
Seen some of confusion about Ivysaur's Pokemon RB artwork in particular, so here's a quick thread to clear some stuff up!
Here is every major interpretation of Ivysaur in the series.
[1] These all look different, what is Ivysaur's "true" color? Green, or Blue/Teal?
Ivysaur's true color is relative to where the artwork comes from. For example, in Generation 4, Ivysaur is a deep green in Diamond & Pearl, whereas it is significantly more blue-looking in… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
[3] What was with this post, about the "inaccurate colors" found below?
As mentioned in that thread, all of Red & Blue's existing artwork on the internet stems from US Promotional Material, seemingly originating in frorm the Pokemon Red & Blue Player's Guide released exclusively… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
this is a really smart example of Kanto’s design, wedging a tiny route in-between the only two megacities encapsulates Tajiri’s initial pitch for Pokemon’s world— being based off his childhood home effectively being paved over by human development
the only issue with Route 7 is that it doesn’t go far enough with the idea. Wild Encounters are identical here to previous routes that suit a different context
putting some more man-made Kanto Pokemon here would probably fit a bit better
A really subtle detail about the Gen 2 and 4 interpretations of R7 is that a dirt path has started to form between Saffron and Celadon
fully completing the route’s transformation into something purely transitional for humans to cross
It's started! CEDED 2022 Hosted by Keiichi Maezawa of GAME FREAK. Full English translation of the presentation will come later.
Mostly just setting the story for how Pokemon assets were developed throughout the series, up until Legends Arceus.
Confirmation that Pokemon Legends Arceus began development in Fall of 2018, with Scarlet and Violet starting around the time Generation 8 was finishing up.
Means both games had three years of development.
Lots of specifications regarding the way Pokemon models are designed.
This User Interface is identical to the ones found in the leaked Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee prototypes.
Saw Lewtwo at Pokemon Worlds today. Told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?”
but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued competing, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I was leaving I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen TCG Boosters
in his hands without paying. Masuda very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear him, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When he took one of the
An anonymous poster has leaked some prototype files on 4chan's Pokemon board.
This thread will document what has been discovered by the community.
So far:
- The Bootrom for the Nintendo Switch (dated 2017)
- A file called "beluga.nsp" in an "eevee" folder. LGPE Protos likely?
IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL SITES REPORTING ON THIS:
I do not have access to the leak, nor did I release it.
Many sites made this mistake last time, and be warned that I will go to extreme lengths in order to correct articles that state otherwise as it is very damaging to my brand.
**The image in the first post of this thread was from the SwSh leak of Oct. 2020**
- 100% confirmed Let's Go Eevee at this point (uses prototype icon)
- Also it's related to wack0's hack of Nintendo dubbed the "Gigaleak" lol
