With gear in hand and a setting sun at their back, Anatoly leads the group through the woods to a sizeable clearing with a dirt floor. They're starting to set up shelter tents when a roar has Soap's head snapping towards the sound, his eyes widening.
"Carbon!" He yells-
as he dashes out of the tent and runs over to his carno as the rest of the dinos find their humans. Carbon immediately crouches down in time for Soap to smack against his face and hug him tightly.
"God, I missed you."
Happy rumbles come from Carbon as Soap rubs along-
his nose and face, soaking up as much dino love as he can.
Ghost is immediately tackled by his raptor; however, he was ready for it so he manages to stay on his feet (barely). Price is already feeding his trike as they sit together, and Gaz is pulling his sleeping-
bag out and laying it next to his Quetz. Ghost's rex hangs back at the edge of the clearing, eyeing the group every so often.
"Soap, Ghost, why don't you take your dinos and go get some wood for the fire?" Anatoly asks from the small camping stove, dinner already simmering.-
Ghost and Soap set off into the woods, Carbon playfully chasing the raptor and the rex stalking besides them further away.
Soap glances behind them before he tugs Ghost to him and kisses him slowly. Instantly, Ghost is melting into him, arms snaking around his smaller frame-
and pulling him flush against his body.
"I'm so happy we got to experience this day together." Ghost mumbles against Soap's lips, eyes lidded, and Soap let's out a soft hum.
"Me too. I've dreamt of this day ever since I was 18, but I never thought I'd have-
a boyfriend to experience it with."
Ghost's heart surges with warmth. "Me either."
They search for wood, laced fingers swinging between them, sharing soft kisses every time one of them stared at the other fondly. Carbon and Ghost's raptor eventually return to them-
carrying wood in their mouths so they return to camp.
"See! I told you they took longer to canoodle!" Gaz yells at them, shit eating grin on his face, and Soap flips him off.
"Quiet you; you're just jealous of our love."
Ghost's stomach flips.
/our love/.-
Them and the dinos deposit the wood, and Price starts making the fire.
"You know, if you two need some privacy tonight," Price adds, "I'm sure Anatoly can show us something cool nearby."
Soap's face feels like it's on fire while Ghost clears his throat.
"If Nik was here, Captain-
we'd be the ones giving you two privacy."
Price's jaw drops a little before his ears turn pink and he throws a stick at them. "Watch it, Lieutenant, I'm still your captain."
As the group digs into dinner, playfully teasing each other, Carbon notices the rex lay down-
back at his place on the edge of the clearing and wanders over to him. He let's out a little rumble, tilting his head, and the rex stares blankly at him. Carbon then moves around to his side and starts to nudge him, earning a dark growl in return.-
Seeing as the rex wasn't moving, Carbon makes a noise akin to a huff before he flops down next to the rex and leans into him. The rex shoves at him with it's nose but seeing as Carbon doesn't move, and even lays his head to sleep, the rex gives-
up his fight against the weird, stubborn carno.

Soap can't sleep.
Hes used to sleeping on a cot, sleeping under the stars, but something is amiss. Their campsite is quiet, save for the occasional noise from a dinosaur or the crackling of the fire. For some reason, it grates against his nerves.
With a tired sigh,-
Soap crawls out of his cot and stumbles out of his tent, noticing a figured near Carbon and the sleeping rex laying blanket down by them. Soap smiles as he wraps a blanket around his shoulders.
"Can't sleep, Lt?"
Ghost turns to smile at Soap as he approaches.-
Soap stares in awe as the Mosasaurus lifts its head out of the water, balancing Erin on it's snout.
"Everyone, meet Big Blue." He calls down to them, and Soap gives a small wave, hand shaking a little.
"That's one big fish." Gaz breathes out, his eyes like saucers.-
Anatoly steps up next to Soap. "Got an electronics on you?"
Soap frowns. "No, why?"
Anatoly grabs Soap by his waist and throws him into the lake like a dad throwing their child into a pool. Soap screams loudly before he hits the water, and Ghost yanks Anatoly, who's-
The car ride to the Mosa enclosure is mostly quiet, everyone's energy drained from the day. Soap holds onto Ghost's hand firmly as he borrows Ghost's shoulder to rest against, trying to recover some energy. Anatoly and Price softly talking adds to the ambience in the car.-
"So Anatoly, you said your better half works here. How did you two meet?" Price's voice is tired but curious.
"We met when the Mosa was discovered; He was navy and I was Marines. The Mosa would only interact with him and attack everyone else so he helped us get it back here."-
The further northwest the group walked, the darker things seemed to get. Sunlight has a tougher time getting through the trees, the sounds of other dinosaurs slowly diminish, and the trees start to spread out more. They come across a sizeable stream, and walks along the banks.-
The stream ends at a deep pool next to a large cave, vines and overgrowth hanging over the entrance. Fish as big as Soap's torso can be seen swimming in the pool.
"What exactly is out here?" An agitated Gaz asks, of whom wishes he was back on his Quetz just incase he needed-
"Ghost?"
The soft way Soap says his name has Ghost sighing out.
"It can't all be this simple."
Anatoly raises a questioning eyebrow, prompting him to continue.
"This supposed connection we have to these dinosaurs. It sounds like something out of a fairytale."-
Anatoly snorts. "Next, you're going to tell me you don't believe in soulmates."
The image of Soap immediately pops into Ghost's head, but he doesn't think unpacking his deep feelings for his Sergeant is ok to do right now.
"You do?"
"Of course I do; I found mine." Anatoly runs-
Keeping his eyes to the sky, Gaz steps away from the group and out into the open field, following his own pull. For Gaz, it feels like the rope tied to his stomach is pulling him both forward and upward so he follows it until the sensation turns into just a pull upwards.
The sky is mostly clear, spotty with thick clouds every so often, but Gaz can't spot a thing so he let's out a sigh and hangs his head. Maybe his pull is defective. A gentle breezes starts to caress his skin when the sound of yelling reaches his ears.
"Gaz, look out!"
