Soap can't sleep.
Hes used to sleeping on a cot, sleeping under the stars, but something is amiss. Their campsite is quiet, save for the occasional noise from a dinosaur or the crackling of the fire. For some reason, it grates against his nerves.
With a tired sigh,-
Soap crawls out of his cot and stumbles out of his tent, noticing a figured near Carbon and the sleeping rex laying blanket down by them. Soap smiles as he wraps a blanket around his shoulders.
"Can't sleep, Lt?"
Ghost turns to smile at Soap as he approaches.-
"Not quite. You?"
Soap shrugs. "Me either."
They both lay down on the blanket bed Ghost made, Soap curled into Ghost's side, and stare up at the stars. Ghost leans over to kiss Soap's forehead.
"I love you."-
Soap's heart skips a beat; This is the first time either of them have spoken those words out loud, and Soap sits up a little to gaze into Ghost's eyes.
"I love you too, Simon Riley."

With gear in hand and a setting sun at their back, Anatoly leads the group through the woods to a sizeable clearing with a dirt floor. They're starting to set up shelter tents when a roar has Soap's head snapping towards the sound, his eyes widening.
"Carbon!" He yells-
as he dashes out of the tent and runs over to his carno as the rest of the dinos find their humans. Carbon immediately crouches down in time for Soap to smack against his face and hug him tightly.
"God, I missed you."
Happy rumbles come from Carbon as Soap rubs along-
Soap stares in awe as the Mosasaurus lifts its head out of the water, balancing Erin on it's snout.
"Everyone, meet Big Blue." He calls down to them, and Soap gives a small wave, hand shaking a little.
"That's one big fish." Gaz breathes out, his eyes like saucers.-
Anatoly steps up next to Soap. "Got an electronics on you?"
Soap frowns. "No, why?"
Anatoly grabs Soap by his waist and throws him into the lake like a dad throwing their child into a pool. Soap screams loudly before he hits the water, and Ghost yanks Anatoly, who's-
The car ride to the Mosa enclosure is mostly quiet, everyone's energy drained from the day. Soap holds onto Ghost's hand firmly as he borrows Ghost's shoulder to rest against, trying to recover some energy. Anatoly and Price softly talking adds to the ambience in the car.-
"So Anatoly, you said your better half works here. How did you two meet?" Price's voice is tired but curious.
"We met when the Mosa was discovered; He was navy and I was Marines. The Mosa would only interact with him and attack everyone else so he helped us get it back here."-
The further northwest the group walked, the darker things seemed to get. Sunlight has a tougher time getting through the trees, the sounds of other dinosaurs slowly diminish, and the trees start to spread out more. They come across a sizeable stream, and walks along the banks.-
The stream ends at a deep pool next to a large cave, vines and overgrowth hanging over the entrance. Fish as big as Soap's torso can be seen swimming in the pool.
"What exactly is out here?" An agitated Gaz asks, of whom wishes he was back on his Quetz just incase he needed-
"Ghost?"
The soft way Soap says his name has Ghost sighing out.
"It can't all be this simple."
Anatoly raises a questioning eyebrow, prompting him to continue.
"This supposed connection we have to these dinosaurs. It sounds like something out of a fairytale."-
Anatoly snorts. "Next, you're going to tell me you don't believe in soulmates."
The image of Soap immediately pops into Ghost's head, but he doesn't think unpacking his deep feelings for his Sergeant is ok to do right now.
"You do?"
"Of course I do; I found mine." Anatoly runs-
Keeping his eyes to the sky, Gaz steps away from the group and out into the open field, following his own pull. For Gaz, it feels like the rope tied to his stomach is pulling him both forward and upward so he follows it until the sensation turns into just a pull upwards.
The sky is mostly clear, spotty with thick clouds every so often, but Gaz can't spot a thing so he let's out a sigh and hangs his head. Maybe his pull is defective. A gentle breezes starts to caress his skin when the sound of yelling reaches his ears.
"Gaz, look out!"
