Located in the northern part of the Beatrix Park in Amsterdam, the memorial site is a place for survivors and the Rwandan community in the Netherlands to remember their loved ones & to pay tribute to more than one million victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
The installment of the Memorial is the fruit of close collaboration with the @minbuza & the Municipality of @AmsterdamNL & constitutes one the most important tools to help preserve the memory of the victims & educate present + future generations about the Genocide against Tutsi.
Mr. @RvDantzig; Deputy Mayor, city of Amsterdam and Mr. @MarceldeVink, Director-General for Political Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs to were present to officially inaugurate the memorial with Ambassador Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe and Mrs. Christine Safari. #Kwibuka29
