You've been waiting for stupid cracktheories for far too long;
Here's a short thread on why The Mimic is Mendo from FNaF World
Starting simple:
Mendo as a name could very easily be used as wordplay for The Mimic, being short for Mimic Endo
Moving onto design details, Mendo is has a few interesting things to note
The largest parts of his body are his arms and head, which relate back to the Mimic's story as the parts of the body The Mimic tears off of its victims
Both also feature large, prominent black spherical joints connecting their limbs together. While spherical joints are nothing new on the endos it's interesting how exaggerated they are on both of these two in particular
He's also one of the only endos to be portrayed with dark/black eyes, Burntrap being the only other to have that feature on their normal designs
What's interesting is that Mendo's pupils are bright yellow, whilst Mimic's are bright purple, both colors being associated with Afton
In FNaF World he runs a store that sells various endoskeleton parts and upgrades, which could relate to The Mimic being designed as an endoskeleton that's able to fit any suit
Considering that Edwin made The Mimic to be a friend for his son, and that it was a specially made endo, it's not out of the question to suggest it would have a unique coat of paint
Mendo is Dark blue, a color that's historically been associated with boys
After all of those years, the fire and more, it's not unreasonable to assume that a once rich dark blue could degrade into darker coloration we see Burntrap sporting in security breach
This also matches with the theme of The Mimic being corrupted by Edwin's agony and loss
Color symbolism plays an important role here, even outside of the basic meanings. Black is a color very associated with Death and mourning, to have a rich blue devolve into black is a very meaningful choice that reflects on The Mimic's lost friend/family
Dark blue is also a color associated with and worn by Gregory, who's said to be "the sorcerer's favorite apprentice, make of this what you will.
Now while this doesn't outright confirm anything, something fascinating is that Mendo is the ONLY shopkeeper from FNaF World to have not made another appearance since, not even as an easter-egg or on the SB arcade machines which depict other FNaF World characters like Bouncepot
This isn't even an issue about not being able to fit him in anywhere. FNaF: ARcould have easily made him a skin, they did not. Freddy in Space 2 could have made him the shopkeep, but they did not, they brought Lolbit back AGAIN and even with a bit of a redesign
Mendo is a character that's stayed unused, irrelevant, out of sight in the background and off the radar. Henry's dialogue and actions heavily suggest he had no knowledge of The Mimic's existence at all, meaning both of these things can apply to both characters simultaneously
Mendo has not been forgotten, he's been waiting, and with that marks the end of this thread.
Hope you all enjoyed the thread, just remember that Mendo's been watching the entire time and is awaiting his next move. Until then, sleep tight, and don't let the Mend-o-bugs bite.
