My college has a similar exam CHFI pattern which I passed with flying colors. They offered me a CHFI voucher which is included in my course fee.
Recently I attended CHFI exam last week. I failed. If I had got 1 question right, I would have passed.
That's fine. I failed. I could retry again or leave it as the certification is not mandatory for my Masters.
But in the exam there were questions outside of official @ECCOUNCIL courseware.
So I appealed to the exam committee to review my request. But my request was immediately rejected, stating with the `template` response and asked me to refer to the blueprint.
I clearly responded with a question I remembered from the exam and pointed out that it is nowhere mentioned in the courseware. Here is the response I got.
@ECCOUNCIL expects to learn everything in the universe and follow the blueprint and clear the exam. Cybersecurity is an ocean, no one knows everything.
Folks who are working in the industry can clear because they have field experience. But for students like me who are new to #cybersecurity it is 100% demotivation and not encouraging.
The exam fees are expensive. The motive here is about collecting exam retake fees. I was fond of #eccouncil certifications. But no more.
If they are not asking the questions from the official courseware, then why are they releasing it?
Of course there are people who passed it on the first attempt. But I am talking from the new entrants and students perspective.
No wonder why my college removed EC Council certifications from the curriculum and replaced them with CISSP and other reputed certifications. I wish I had the new program. #ceh#chfi
