I created and published a Children’s book in 3 days with the assistance of Generative AI. I had ZERO experience and there is no reason you can’t do it too!

Firstly, if you are looking for regular info or tips on Generative AI, these people helped me tremendously! @icreatelife, @additish, @nickfloats, @MattVidPro, @Ainessadesigner @javilopen, @techhalla

I started researching Amazon KDP and learned that softcover books had a 24 page minimum and hardcover had a 75 page minimum. I also worked out the size I needed to make my book. kdp.amazon.com/en_US/help/top…

I needed a book idea. I was going to ask ChatGPT but my daughter had a better idea! So the name ‘Quinn’s Math Adventures’ was born.
I went to ChatGPT to draft the story. Using the title, I started with an outline for a 12 page story. Then asked for 2-4 sentences, rhyming.

Next I needed Illustrations. I decided to use @LeonardoAi_ I started by searching ‘children’s book’ and ‘character sheet’ on the community feed and a heap of character sheets appeared.

If you view an image in @LeonardoAi_ you like, you can see the prompt, the model and other helpful details. Press remix and change the specific details to make the character you need. This can take some playing around!

This is the Character sheet I moved forward with.

As you can see, it was not perfect. So I had to jump into Photoshop to do some editing.

I headed to @canva to begin the design. I chose the trim size, including the bleed. I went with 8.625" x 8.75". I added guidelines, 0.125 for bleed and 0.25 for the Safe Zone. I used the KDP cover calculator to size the cover design and created the cover too.

I added all the text to @canva leaving 1 page between so I could add images on the other page. I headed back to @LeonardoAi_ and created some more emotions and actions with Image to Image.

I combined the photoshop edited images in @canva. I used some built-in Canva features to add to the images. I also edited some text to make it more cohesive.

Once completing the Cover, I downloaded the designs as PDF Print, ready to upload to @AmazonKDP.

Lastly, I created a KDP account. I uploaded the PDFs following the publishing process and the book went up on @AmazonKDP Book Store!
