Matt Binder, who wrote a story about Dril supporting the #BlockTheBlue concept, has also been given a Bluecheck without consent, which appears to be a desperate effort to get people to turn against the idea of blocking Bluechecks
Within less than a week, Twitter Blue supporters have gone from saying it's something that only cheap people don't want to pay for to now mocking people who have been given a Bluecheck as a punishment, an incredible apeedrun
What an tremendous way to demonstrate that Bluechecks no longer denote anything but shame
Videos of police detaining people who came out to defend a drag show at Fort Brewery and Pizza in Fort Worth have been shared by @EFJBGC and by the anti-LGBTQ group "Protect Texas Kids." @fortworthpd will not comment on why, said it's "being investigated."
I asked Fort Worth Police directly about the claims that are already circulating in right wing media that police were "assaulted" and that pepper spray/mace was used against a member of the christo-fascist New Columbia Movement. They simply said "all is being investigated."
I cannot corroborate any of the claims currently being made about why Fort Worth police forcefully detained people outside of the drag show at Fort Brewery today. I have yet to see any video that supports those claims.
NEW: In the days following @GregAbbott_TX's public pledge to pardon Daniel Perry, unsealed documents from the case, revealed that Perry had inappropriate text exchanges with an apparent 16-year-old girl after searching for “good chats to meet young girls." texasobserver.org/daniel-perry-p…
"Ok so im 16 ill be 17 in 3 months u sure u want me,” wrote a user on Kik Messenger, an instant messaging platform with a troubled history of child exploitation scandals. “What state…Also promise me no nudes until you are old enough to be of age,” Perry said later in the chat."
"Since the damning documents were released, Abbott has been quiet on social media, where he first made clear his support for a pardon. It’s uncertain if Abbott intends to follow through with his pledge in light of the evidence..."
This is rich coming from a publisher and Trump supporter who (1) sued me for defamation for criticizing his resurrection of a formerly Black owned newspaper into a right-wing "news" website, and (2) ran two articles calling me racist after reporting critically about the paper
Matt Walsh didn't seem to have any issue with WikiLeaks openly publishing hacked materials when it served his political interests, but apparently it's different when a reporter from @WIRED sought info to confirm whether Walsh had been hacked but didn't publish hacked materials.
I understand how it might be confusing to someone who doesn't do actual journalism such as Matt Walsh but it's a very common practice for journalists to seek confirmation of a hack in the course of their reporting. Moreover, there are explicit protections in law and TOS for this.
WikiLeaks regularly promoted their interest in receiving AND publishing hacked materials, while Dell Cameron of @WIRED sought out confirmation of a hack one time and never published the hacked materials. I understand this is personal for Walsh, but the hypocrisy is glaring.
