A few days ago while checking out my items at the mall, the cashier indicated that a nearby child was getting upset a bit because they wanted to get my headset. I looked at the child, and smiled a little at them to placate them, then went back to my music and allowing the parent
to deal with the child. Odds that I'll ever do more than that in similar situations are near zero. There are many people who are enthusiastic about babies/young children, but that has never been me, even as a child, and I don't think it'll change anytime soon.
