Tech Dive Thread!

Token as a first-class citizen: what does it mean?
On @ethereum, only $ETH runs natively on the blockchain.

All other tokens are created by smart contracts and use one of the main standards like ERC-20 or ERC-721.

However, the fact that tokens are not native to the blockchain leaves room for errors.
As it is not enforced by code, the standard can be:

❌Forgotten
❌Not the best one for the use-case
❌Wrongly implemented

That happens because it is up to the dApp devs to ensure everything is ok.

Consensus Algorithm Time!

With @ethereum heading for #TheMerge, it’s a good time to remember how consensus mechanisms work, especially our very own Proof of Less Work and the benefits it brings to the security of our network.
2/ We wrote an article about it in our blog. If you didn’t read it yet, now’s a good time! Especially since next thursday @wachmc will do an AMA on our Discord on this subject!

3/ PoW x PoLW

In classical proof of work, miners use equipment like GPUs, FPGAs or ASICS and energy to solve hashing problems: mining cost is the combination of equipment cost and energy costs.

Hi @Twitter! Today is TTT (tech-thread tuesday).

We’ll explain how Blockflow prevents double-spending using #UTXO, #PoW and #DAG!

We are going deep-nerdy, so strap-on!

This 🧵is inspired from a convo between @wachmc & @programmargorp in our Discord discord.com/channels/74774…
This started well, but while writing it, it took on a life of its own as we went further down the rabbit-hole, so it’s a bit of a monster thread! Please bear with us! Image
First, some definitions! You can skip that if you’re already an expert!
