I was married at 18, pregnant at 19, and a mom by 20. I am from rural Arkansas and I am not an anomaly. I was actually proud to say I wasn't a teenage mom. I was able to get out of poverty with Pell grants and Medicaid, but these social safety nets are under attack. They want...
to keep us poor, pregnant, and desperate. I am the face of a rural woman...there is a concerted effort on the part of the GOP to force ignorance into our communities by deleting sex ed, history, and school in general. They will keep us undereducated so we can work for less...
They will force pregnancy on young girls to keep them hopeless of ever getting out of poverty. They will keep an education a dream with the only option being a lifetime of debt. They will bust unions and keep us too busy paying bills and working two jobs to look up and see who...
is responsible. It's the billionaires and the folks they finally moved into power after decades of silent work. They have SCOTUS and they have red states like mine. They laugh in our face while they blame us for not having enough grit or perseverance. They hate us. Just ask them.
To those who will call me drain on society, I worked throughout my pregnancy. I was a cashier at Walmart and made 4.25/hour. I had health insurance, but they denied paying for a pregnancy, hence Medicaid. I went back to work when my son was 14 days old -- I had no maternity pay.

The GOP harms folks with very real “culture wars.” I live in rural Missouri. I knocked doors. Folks didn’t ask for less funding for their schools. They didn’t ask for hospital closures. They didn’t ask for the local library to be defunded. They didn’t ask for guns in public.
Did some of them vote for politicians that do this? Yes. It is an all out war on rural psyches. Create a religious war to scare folks. Talk about nonexistent problems. Keep us in fight or flight mode. Lie to us. Point to others as the source of our failing towns. Keep us angry.
And then maybe you can get folks to vote for someone who will destroy our schools, our libraries, our roads, our hospitals, and depress our wages but at least it’s a politician who won’t “tear babies limb from limb”, right? These are the options given to folks. It’s Psyops.

Raymond Gunn was lynched in Maryville, MO in 1931. He was marched from the county courthouse in Nodaway County to the Garrett School House where, under duress, he confessed to killing a white school teacher. He was then chained to the roof while the school was set on fire…
Reports say he screamed and it was 11 minutes before he succumbed to the fire. There were thousands who watched the lynching and reporters were there from St Joe to cover it. Did you know it would be nearly impossible to teach this lynching under a new bill in Missouri?
A MO legislative plan would usher in new limits on race-related school lessons would limit lessons on lynching. It would limit lessons on racism. It would scare teachers into limiting history. It erases the history and lynching of Raymond Gunn. stltoday.com/news/local/gov…

See this guy? He’s a Missouri Representative who ran uncontested. He’s free to make laws that harm Missourians because he knows he’s safe in his seat. I’ve had enough of his BS. The way we fight back is by funding candidates all over the state. You can help… ImageImage
Blue Missouri funds Dem candidates across Missouri. We don’t just focus on “flippable” seats, we focus on all Democratic candidates. That’s the difference. We have to compete in every race across the state. We can’t flip MO without fighting everywhere. bluemissouri.org
I have over 80,000 followers who are concerned with politics and what’s going on in red states. If just a few of you could give $20 a month, we could fund Missouri candidates. We can compete on all ballots across the entire state. That’s my mission and we can do this together.

Missouri was the first state to sign an abortion ban into law after Roe fell. My lawmakers have imposed their religious beliefs on me with the ban. Here are quotes as proof:

“From the Biblical side of it … life does occur at the point of conception.” -Rep. Barry Hovis
“From the one-cell stage at the moment of conception, you were already there … you equally share the image of our Creator.” -Rep Ben Baker

“As a Catholic, I do believe life begins at conception, and that is built into our legislative findings.”
-Sen Nick Schroer
“God doesn’t give us a choice in this area. He is the creator of life. And I, being made in His image and likeness, don’t get to choose to take that away, no matter how that child came to be. To me, life begins at conception, and my God doesn’t give that option” -Rep Holly Rehder

I'd love to give y'all some examples of what I heard at doors in rural Missouri to help you understand what folks out here say when confronted with a progressive message. I will say that we knocked over 5k doors and made as many calls. Also, we had near zero data to go on...
I knocked a door in a town of 200 people. The woman asked if I was a D or R. She immediately handed back my lit and said she was a Christian and couldn't vote for Democrats. She then said she'd heard I was a teacher (her kid's schools just went 4-day)...
She said there's something you can do about our schools and I was hopeful that she would talk about getting her schools funding so they could stay open 5 days. She wasn't. She said legislators should be working to mandate prayer in classrooms.

🧵Know these things and say them on loop to friends and family: the Missouri GOP has had a supermajority for two decades. They have had 20 years to fix things in Missouri without even conferring with, much less working with, a Democrat.
Look around…4 day school weeks and crumbling roads. Foster kids going missing in the system. Underpaid teachers and state workers. Limited staff/lack of beds at mental health facilities because the pay rate for nurses is so low...
And now the Missouri GOP has cut corporate taxes. Corporations can come in, pay workers low rates, use our resources, and not pay into the system. This is corrupt.

Vote for Democrats to change course. The MO GOP will promise to change things, but they’ve already had 20 years
