Thoughts on where to submit a 2,700-word essay that's too academic for many lit mags and not academic enough to be considered scholarship? Non-narrative piece on gardens, time, death, and capitalism. Perhaps a lit mag focused on nature/environment?
It's on my mother's death + my daughter's birth along with a lot of philosophical reflections on time/environment-- drawing on Silvia Federici, Mikhail Bakhtin, Federico Garcia Lorca, and philosopher/comp lit scholar Joshua Landy
Thanks to everyone who commented here-- I was familiar with many of these publications, but some are new to me. Happy to have this thread to expand my reading list + new places to submit.
