At DC courthouse to cover closing arguments in Proud Boys trial. Lots at stake for DOJ—any convictions for seditious conspiracy bolsters case for similar charge against Trump since govt has used his “stand back stand by” comment as a calling cry of sorts.
More on that later.
A chief from DOJ organized crime division is here bc it’s important to observe what’s happening with the dangerous crime racket known as the Proud Boys. “This is a good judge. He has no time for nonsense.” 🙄
Aside from fact Epps is from Arizona, it was surreal to hear DOJ talk about “1st wave” of “rioters”—which included Epps—at closing arguments in Proud Boys trial today.
DOJ: “Rioters took over entire plaza. All hell broke loose. It was a terrifying spectacle.”
Epps was there:
Prosecutor Conor Mulroe, forced to confront Epps issue because he's in so many videos and key breach points, warned jury there are many "fantasies" about Epps being a "government agent." DOJ: Everyone at Jan 6 is a rioter. Except Epps who is a victim of rightwing "fantasies."
DOJ insists the "seditious conspiracy" for Jan 6 can be "unspoken," "implicit," "a mutual understanding," and a "wink and a nod."
How is Epps, involved in 1st breach point (as DOJ describes it) and present during first 90 minutes, not an "implicit" or "unspoken" co-conspirator?
A week before the election, House Republicans released a lengthy and detailed report outlining areas of investigation related to FBI corruption. Let’s revisit this as we contemplate rumors that GOP will not address January 6:
The padding of domestic terror cases is directly related to FBI arrests of Jan 6 protesters. Wray often brags that all 56 field offices are involved in investigating J6ers.
Whitmer fednapping in many ways a dress rehearsal for Jan 6. The biggest connection of course is Steven D’Antuono. GOP correctly describes this as a manufactured domestic terror attack (that also interfered in 2020 election). Crickets on this so far
As GOP fixates on ruthless prosecutor in NYC, the one who works in the shadow of the Capitol building continues his selective prosecution of Trump supporters. Graves' sentencing recommendations for J6ers are out of control.
Pat McCaughey found guilty of 9 counts incl a few...
for assaulting a police officer. McCaughey no doubt acted badly on Jan 6 -- he was 23 at the time and has no criminal record.
Matthew Graves wants him to go to jail for more than 15 years.
Graves wants more prison time for a first time offender who scuffled with police on Jan 6 than a depraved child porn peddler with a record.
I have suggested to GOP House members that they should hold public meetings outside of DC with victims of January 6 prosecution to highlight use of FBI armed raids and what this DOJ is doing to Trump supporters.
Instead they’re doing this:
Rather than conduct a public accounting of DOJs abusive investigation and prosecution of January 6 defendants, GOP is traveling to deep blue city in deep blue state to highlight crime victims in a jurisdiction for which they have no controlling authority.
What about J6 victims?
I mean, ok. This sounds bad. But Wray should be subpoenaed for his agency’s role in Whitmer fednapping and answer about known FBI informants before and on January 6.
Wray’s name never mentioned in J6 committee report. Why? These are the answers this committee should pursue.
