Today feels like a great day to remind everyone of all the victories Joe Biden has delivered for Jewish Americans in his first term and why it’s crucial we re-elect him.
A THREAD ⬇️⬇️⬇️:
🗳 DEMOCRACY: Democracy was the top policy issue for Jewish voters in 2022 - and Biden has consistently put it at the forefront of his agenda.
✡️ COMBATING ANTISEMITISM: Biden provided increased funding for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program - a program that provides security funding for synagogues and other Jewish institutions.
He also established an inter-agency group focused on countering antisemitism, Islamophobia, and related forms of discrimination, which is being led by @SecondGentleman Doug Emhoff and @StateSEAS.
⚠️ GUN SAFETY: Biden signed the Safer Communities Act, the first major gun control legislation to pass in 30 years.
This bill closes the boyfriend loophole, provides funding for red flag laws, expands background checks, and increases funding for mental health resources.
Gun safety is supported by more than 90% of Jewish American voters.
🇮🇱 ISRAEL: Biden has had the LONGEST history of support for the U.S.-Israel relationship of any President.
As VP, he played a key role in ensuring Israel’s security, inc. through the unprecedented level of security assistance provided by the Obama Admin. jewishdems.org/biden-history-…
🌳 ENVIRONMENT: Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act made historic and unprecedented investments in combating climate change, including funding for:
950 million solar panels
120,000 wind turbines
2,300 grid-scale battery plants
And will reduce emissions by a billion metric tons
🏳️🌈 LGBTQI+ RIGHTS: Biden took action to codify same sex marriage through the Respect for Marriage Act.
He has also continuously strengthened non-discrimination provisions.
There’s no question Biden has delivered on key issues for Jewish Americans. But the fight is far from over, and we can’t afford to lose a real leader in the White House. It’s time to #FinishTheJob.
