A long thread about the masterpiece that is #D_Day.
Yoongi splays himself open in his music, not as some sort of self-sacrifice, but as a means to both heal himself and also help others. For someone so cautious and emotionally wary to expose everything in his music is+
shockingly brave. I’m humbled that he shares his deepest pain with such open vulnerability. We all grow up and take on traumas, labels, conditioning…the collective creation of our historical selves over time. We forget that deep inside underneath all that pain and+
conditioning is our true Self (with a capital S), our true operating system before we got bogged down by all the ‘malware’. I think once we recognize the malware inside of us, growth can truly begin. We can start removing it & with that recognition comes more wisdom, self-love,+
self-care, connectedness, spaciousness…to feel our pain, to let it go, and grow. I feel like Yoongi has been doing that. Also, his growth isn’t denying the existence of Agust D or the deep egoic scars that life has left on his psyche, those will still flare up and need to be+
dealt with. His growth doesn’t insinuate any type of perfection because like all of us, he’s human and flawed and there is a constant mix of growth and setbacks. It simply indicates he’s realizing the truth of who he really is, and it appears to be a new beginning of the+
blending of Agust D/Suga/Yoongi as he moves forward with his life. I’m just…awed.🥲 He’s been through hell & not only has he survived & thrived, but he has come through it with the most giving, caring heart. He’s sharing it so others can find value, comfort, strength,+
reassurance & empowerment to heal in their own lives. Thank you, Yoongi. I’m incredibly honored to know you and your music. I’ll listen to your music for as long as I live.✨
(As always, this is purely my personal interpretation of Yoongi’s album from my own life lens.)💜
