one sided love? ep 29 — a thread 🧵

#yalıçapkını Image
+ “he will say i told you”

seyran deep down knows she made a mistake but isn’t ready to admit it, she doesn’t want ferit to know that he was right that’s why she refuses to call him, she’s acting out of pride and anger

#yalıçapkını ImageImage
+ “what if seyran came”

this is a normal reaction for a victim of sexual harassment, to feel guilty about something that wasn’t his fault, he’s also ashamed and scared that other people will find out cuz she made him think he’s responsible for what happened

#yalıçapkını Image
+ “i don’t want his mercy and kindness”

despite being in a hopeless situation seyran doesn’t want anyone’s help, including her husband, she still couldn’t admit that her actions had consequences and chooses pride over her safety

#yalıçapkını ImageImage
+ “i wanted a divorce”

she said it herself.. for the first time she made her own choice and she won’t give up, it’s like she wants to prove something to herself even if she knows she might be making a mistake

#yalıçapkını Image
+ “if your sister loved me even a bit none of this would happen”

ferit made a lot of efforts into making their marriage work, stood up against his family and he expected the same from seyran, to confront her family for him

#yalıçapkını Image
+ “think before you act”

seyran said those words to suna but that sentence describes seyran’s character perfectly, as we could see she doesn’t think about the consequences of her actions and if something doesn’t go her way she blames others for it

#yalıçapkını ImageImage
+ “what will happen if my father finds out?”

suna tried to calm her down saying that ferit and abi are fine but it looked like she was more worried about kazim’s reaction than ferit and what could happen to him

#yalıçapkını Image
+ “i told you i’ll figure it out”

seyran is too proud to ask for help, she isn’t ready to accept her mistakes that’s why she was mad at suna for telling ferit, she didn’t want him to know cuz it would be like admitting that she was wrong

#yalıçapkını ImageImage
+ “don’t be afraid and talk to your husband”

her mother tried to convince her to talk to ferit and solve it out together, she knows seyran is too stubborn and proud to do that that’s why she wanted to make her reconsider it

#yalıçapkını ImageImage
+ “it’s all my fault, right?”

ferit’s family always blamed him for everything without letting him explain and it didn’t change, they continue to blame him without asking what actually happened and let him tell his version of the events

#yalıçapkını ImageImage
+ “if i want i can do anything”

that sentence proves that she did it to show ferit she can do whatever she wants,it also shows her impulsiveness when it comes to make decisions, she doesn’t think about the consequences and how it can affect other people’s lifes

#yalıçapkını ImageImage
+ “don’t drive me crazy”

this scene.. him having a breakdown and her watching his reaction, when she said “i’ll send you an invitation” she did it on purpose to hurt him, she was testing him to see what he’s going to do, this is another kind of emotional abuse

#yalıçapkını ImageImageImageImage
+ “don’t let them do it”

until the last moment ferit tried to convince his grandfather to help him, he didn’t want to divorce seyran but halis refused, as we can see ferit did everything he could to prevent the divorce but the decision was already made by seyran

#yalıçapkını Image
+ “your family brought me nothing but pain”

seyran refuses to see the good things ferit and his family did for her, she prefers to focus on the bad memories bc it’s easier this way otherwise she wouldn’t be able to leave

#yalıçapkını ImageImage
+ in the last scene we see two people putting an end to their relationship, seyran who signs the divorce papers without hesitation and ferit devastated by her decision but ready to give her the freedom she wants

#yalıçapkını ImageImage
+ now i want to say some things about seyran’s character

when gulgun mentioned seyran’s young age she didn’t do it to justify her actions but to point out her immaturity bc age cannot be used as an excuse to justify someone’s bad actions

#yalıçapkını ImageImage
+ seyran’s immaturity was shown in this scene

halis is a bad person i won’t try to justify or defend him but hanging up the call without letting the other person finish their sentence is disrespectful and she should apologize for it

#yalıçapkını ImageImage
+ the writers didn’t ruin her character but tried to show her flaws, seyran is an immature and impulsive person who doesn’t think about the consequences of her actions that’s why her character needs development

let’s clarify some things, seyran knows that tarik harassed her and still decides to go out with him, she even takes his side.. allowing a sexual abuser getting close to a victim and acting like nothing happened is normalizing harassment+
+ do you know how dangerous it is? to give that kind of message to the audience when there are so many people who are victims of sexual harassment and y’all trying to normalize it? do not let your hatred towards ferit cloud your reasoning
+ kazim asked seyran if she wanted a divorce and she said yes, she also mentioned that she will marry someone else and she’s aware of kazim’s plans so it’s not like someone forced her, she knows about tarik’s intentions and what he tried to do+
