She was inspired to become a researcher to combine her drive to constantly learn with her desire to make a positive impact in the world by developing novel cancer therapies. 2/7
She is most excited about cell and gene therapy, and would like to work as an R&D scientist to someday contribute to the development of a new therapy that helps someone. 3/7
She is excited to publish in #JITC because it will allow her “to share my research and make an impactful contribution to the field of immunotherapy of cancer.“ 4/7

Outside of research she competes in marathons and half-ironman triathlons. She also referees rugby at a national and international level. Finally, Alexandra spends lots of time at the dog park with her adorable pup, Oliver. 6/7
She was inspired to pursue research during her first clinical traineeship in radiology when she realized the routine clinical imaging approaches had not kept pace with the rapid development of novel targeted cancer therapies. 2/6
She is most excited about the development of new molecular imaging techniques that enable early response assessment to targeted therapies, and thus, optimize individualized treatment regimes. 3/6
