A Thread

Retweet To Educate Someone ImageImage
Originally known as the ‘Subterranean Office of the Government of Biafra,' the bunker was constructed in a mere 90 days from April to June. It measures 26.9 feet deep and comprises a parlour, secretary room, kitchen, bathroom, and store. Members of the..
public renamed it the ‘Ojukwu Bunker’ after the war. The bunker's blueprint was drafted on April 3, 1968, by Frank Mbanefo Associates, and Agbim and Partners handled the structural design. Engr Joel Onyemelukwe, who hails from Nnewi in Anambra State, constructed the bunker.
In 1968, the Biafran war operations developed the Ojukwu Bunker, which was built by Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu. Chief Michael Okpara, the Premier of the Eastern Region at the time, formerly controlled the bunker site. Following the collapse of Biafra's initial capital, the property
was made available to the Biafran administration.
