I just had confirmation my artwork submission for a group exhibition was accepted.

This drawing is extremely meaningful to me. I knew this woman my entire life, she held me as a baby. After being diagnosed with cancer, she took that as a sign to do

everything she felt was needed - starting with divorcing her husband. She lived her best life for a few years, until she passed away on the same day as her mother (also from cancer).

I photographed her to draw not long after she was diagnosed, she still saw & loved the work.
