U.S. Congress has reintroduced a bill called the #EarnItAct.
This is the most dangerous bill I have ever seen when it comes to online privacy and free speech. Essentially, it's going to censor the entire internet. Thread:
This bill kills Section 230 and encryption, meaning that mass censorship and surveillance is going to happen to everyone everywhere, all in the name of "protecting kids online from CSAM". Sound familiar??
The bill creates a 19-person commission called NCOSEP led by the DOJ and @NCOSE, a conservative anti-lgbt anti-sex group that was known as Morality in Media before they rebranded in 2015 as "anti-trafficking", yet they still meet with extreme homophobes nbcnews.com/think/opinion/…
The same way trans people are being banned from existing, how LGBT books are banned, the way black history simply isn't even being allowed to be taught, is how this commission filled with LAW ENFORCEMENT and HATE GROUPS is going to force the whole internet to work
"This bill fights against CSAM" is bs bc the bill actually makes it WORSE.
Why is @SenBlumenthal pushing a pro-CSAM bill so hard? When LINDSEY GRAHAM is the one who wrote it?
"Let’s be clear: the EARN IT Act would pave the way for a massive new surveillance system, run by private companies, that would roll back some of the most important privacy and security features in technology used by people around the globe."
From 2022:
#KOSA is being pushed by the same transphobic lobbies pushing the transphobic healthcare and book ban bills across the country. Except because its "protecting kids" everyones ignoring the 100+ LGBT and human rights orgs who opposed it last year
i love the latino wolfwood headcannon but i'm also wondering what language would even look like since it takes place in the 32nd century. between the destruction of earth, the space faring age, and the ~150 on gunsmoke, is it even spanish anymore?
it's probably still spanish. but i wonder how much of it was lost, how much of it changed, what new words and rules got added to it. are there new languages too? probably.
actually it's kind of funny if vash met wolfwood the first time and the guy just straight up does not understand vash because vash has been around for like 150 years and wolfwood is like...what, barely 16? 20? lol is vash the old man who doesn't understand slang now?
