Hagadone Holdings LLP, the corporation that *owns* the Coeur d'Alene Resort, CDA Press, and almost much every newspaper in North Idaho and West Montana paid LESS in taxes in 2021 than they did in 2012.
Oh yeah, I forgot — Hagadone Holdings LLP, and ALL of the Hagadone Corporation's subsidiaries filed to have their taxes cancelled in 2022.
Look at allllll these companies.
Remember that time a crazy radical ex-professor from Sun Valley came to Coeur d'Alene to plot against conservatives and "bring pressure to bear" on elected conservative officials?
"What is the Hagadone Corporation, other corporations and POWER ELITES in the community doing to pressure these [NIC] trustees?"
Very cool stuff Hagadone Corp.
We truly hope Brad, and Todd are cozy in their multi-million dollar homes.
We're Glad they can pay less in taxes, while advocating for poorer people in the county to pay more, as a financial crisis looms, inflation spikes and wages stagnate.
P.S. The Hagadone "Summer home" sold for just shy of $50 Million in Palm Desert California. desertsun.com/story/marketpl…
They may own ALL the media, the resort, the boat company, and some of the largest estates in the county, but at least they aren't the LARGEST land owners...
That spot is reserved for Community Library Network Vice-Chair Judy Meyer and her husband Steve. parkwoodproperties.com/project/
Congrats Judy!
Glad you still have enough cash left over, after giving NIC $12 MILLION in 2017 to be able to loan yourself $22k for your campaign to keep pornography within the reach of minors in our local libraries.
Correction* it was $1 Million in 2005, not $12 Million in 2017.
Doesn't change the fact that it would take the average Kootenai Citizen 17 years to save up a million bucks, if they had ZERO expenses and no taxes (ha).
I don't think today's Library Debate in North Idaho went the way the incumbents were hoping... 🤣
They didn't expect @KCRCC candidates Tim Plass and Tom Hanley to bring *proof* of the smut in our libraries, or be well prepared, articulate, reasonable and POPULAR.
This is the face of someone with a guilty conscience...
Regina McCrea, who was APPOINTED to the library board in 2016, repeatedly defended the filthy books that are available in our Community Library Network.
Throughout the debate, Tom Hanley, a @KCRCC recommended candidate, rattled off book titles and descriptions of hyper-sexual books in the adolescent section of our local libraries — Books that he has vowed to keep out of the hands of minors.
When President Swayne was first hired, the first anyone in the community heard of him was in this article by Kaye Thornbrugh @ the Press.
She essentially copy/pasted from a press release that was sent to her, and never went to look and see what Swayne's work in Va. looked like.
Swayne ran X-Labs at James Madison University, and became the "Executive Director" of 4-VA, an inter-college foundation that "shared resources" & gave out scholarships like:
"Faculty Development Award to Promote Diversity in Neuroscience by the National Institutes of Health."
Swayne's job at 4-VA was to grow "the strategic partnership with state-level stakeholders at the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) and the governors office."
SCHEV is all about Diversity Equity And Inclusion :)
From their main page, this is what they say they believe in, and what they do. EXTREMELY vague.
Whenever I think of @4H I would think of the fairgrounds where they have competitions for growing the best pig.
Turns out "Agriculture" is actually "STEM" and it's U of I's excuse to use taxpayer $ to teach kids about "Climate Science" "Sustainability" and "Renewable Energy. "
