I still don't know why she vouched for someone who claims to be a Sikh from SoCal and attending Harvard. But who clearly isn't. And who talks in bambaiyya Hindi.
Just as I'm about to enter the Equator site, a friend sends this pic. Of a woman from Mumbai on LinkedIn. Whose pics were used by Behere to try to catfish me as @k_rupal & I figured out months ago. For a fake account called brandy. Vouched for by a fake account Poonam.
This brandy account got very friendly with me, saying she is from SoCal.
My wife is from SoCal. And from the beginning, she was like, no Desi woman in so cal has the Bombay Hindi vocabulary this woman has. It's definitely Behere who she flagged as creepy years ago.
I wrote a long thread with all the details. First the Poonam account, that also had all the signs of being a fake account, said "I assure you, she's real".
I said, respectfully, I don't know you so I can't take your word for it. "She" went ballistic, as did Devlina etc.
Dr. Ambedkar talked about how inter marriage is a very reliable way to annihilate discrimination.
Cos if most people marry outside their in-group, there would be no more in groups in 2 generations.
And white America is a great piece of evidence for his hypothesis.
To put it a bit crudely, the best strategy to annihilate discrimination is to pair up with someone outside your in-group, be it caste or race or whatever.
If we all fuck each other, we will end up like each other.
The thing is though, Rcom was a very good service!
It was cheap and good and reliable, like most things reliance for a customer.
That's the Adani-Ambani difference.
Gautam is just a Modi type thirsty huckster.
Mukesh etc are actual capitalists who do actual capitalism, & win.
I'm no fan of Ambani style crony capitalism, but at least Mukesh turns their jugaad into happy customers, happy investors, no matter which party is in power.
I still don't know what skill Gautam Adani has other than converting oxygen into carbon dioxide and liking Modi.
When I was in school, I had a rich friend who traveled a lot. Their family started a tourism business. And did a few slide shows on schools for us of their travel pics. In the 90s. Before social media or digital cameras.
A slide from Kenya REALLY made an impression on me...
That slide had them visiting the equator in Kenya
And there was a pic where someone had one foot in the northern hemisphere and other in the southern.
That just totally blew my mind! Instant bucket listing.
(Oh, remembered that @damlesafaris are on Twitter! Hi Amol!)
I used to dream about traveling with @damlesafaris to such places, but my family just did not have money then to even go to Nigdi Appu Ghar, forget Nanyuki Town.
That equator slide stayed with me forever.
I also will have legs in different hemispheres one day, I resolved!
Reading the replies is pissing me off even more! A bunch of people giving unsolicited advice about how she could join the military or go to Canada or whatever like she doesn't know about Google.
