Jan. 6er Tommy Smith was on trial this week. I caught some of his testimony.

My two thoughts:

- Judge Reggie Walton doesn’t like defendants telling obvious lies, and he locked up a defendant who did.

- Tommy Smith was gonna get stepped back.

Per source, he’s now in custody. ImageImage
The stories that Tommy Smith were telling on the stand weren’t even remotely plausible, and I’d imagine that jurors were insulted that he thought they were dumb enough to fall for it.

This time last week, a man was at a Joann Fabric when a friend showed him something funny on his phone.

It was a viral tweet from the FBI, showing a Jan. 6 defendant in a pink beret.

“I stopped dead in my tracks,” he said. “I’m like, ‘That’s Jenny.’”

One Twitter user dubbed the woman “Insurrection Eva Braun,” another compared her to Carmen Sandiego. Someone called her “fascist Matilda,” and several users made jokes about her being a character from a Wes Anderson movie. nbcnews.com/politics/justi…
“Emily in-carceration,” read one of the joke tweets referring to the show “Emily in Paris.” There were a couple of comparisons to April Ludgate, the character played by Aubrey Plaza in NBC’s “Parks and Recreation.” nbcnews.com/politics/justi…

"I do see [Walls-Kaufman's] hands on the baton," Cobb said. "I do see Officer Smith fall forward." nbcnews.com/politics/justi…

Feds seek 3+ years in federal prison for Nathaniel DeGrave:
"He has even profited off of his unlawful conduct on January 6 since being incarcerated—to the tune of over $120,000—by seeking donations on crowd-funding websites claiming that he is a 'political prisoner' of a 'corrupt Biden regime.'"

But he cooperated so hard they sealed it. Image

BREAKING: Jose Padilla of 'The Donald' convicted on ten charges after repeatedly assaulting officers on Jan. 6.

Padilla said his violent online rhetoric was for "internet cool points."

Story with @dnlbrns:

nbcnews.com/politics/justi…
If the mob got inside, Jose Padilla claimed under oath, they would've just tried to "convince legislators" to "adopt constitutional amendments" and get Trump in for a second term, and definitely not do any of that hanging stuff he talked about online. nbcnews.com/politics/justi…
“I don’t credit his self-serving claims that he only intended to follow legal processes," the judge said. nbcnews.com/politics/justi…
