— in which althm mistakes thoma for kaveh and things get messy ;;
The outdoor summer market is busy as ever as the scribe makes his way through.
“2 pita pockets please,” he orders, same as always, when a familiar flash
of blonde with sumerian clips catches his eye.
His order makes it way to his hands just as he feels a raindrop land on his shoulder. Pushing his umbrella upward, he makes his way to his roommate in the crowd. He’s sure the other neglected to prepare for the rain.
Blonde tendrils come into view. althm pulls the other softly by the arm under his umbrella.
“Kaveh—“
he’s startled when green eyes lift to his instead of scarlet. the stranger’s pale face mere inches from his sucks in a breath. time seems to suspend and althm feels as if he’s
been warped into a bizarre samsara.
“I apologize, i mistook you for—“
“Thoma.” A baritone voice calls.
althm watches as an imposing man with powder blue hair pulls the blonde to his side under his own umbrella, staring down the scribe.
“You’d do well to stay close to me,” is all the other man says to the blonde before turning them both away, leaving althm blinking and dazed as the rain begins to pour down from the sky.

althm has long been used to kvh’s attitude and poor manners. but recently, his mood has been far worse than normal and the scribe has had enough.
sumeru has been enduring a heatwave for the last 4 days. the sweltering temperatures have left kvh miserable and unable to focus on a single design. the house feels like an oven, who even designed the airflow in this place?? it certainly wasn’t him. kvh groans and fans himself
fruitlessly. he seriously can’t take anymore of this heat. standing, he makes his 3rd trip of the afternoon to the kitchen to replace the water he’s been sweating out. he made the mistake of dehydration the first day of the heat wave and will NOT repeat that sequence of events
They’d been drinking since dinner and now the moon was high in the night sky. Everyone is passed out except Sanji and Zoro, who are drunkenly sparring and spinning and falling in the crow’s nest.
“take t-that! stoopid marmimo!” sanji giggles as
he clumsily kicks zoro in the chest, both of them tipping over from the weak momentum. they both break out in laughter at the action.
“curly, i haven’t been this drunk…(hic) in a while—oof!” the brute tries to stand and falls straight onto his butt, too heavy to fight gravity
“bahahahah! too mush muscle fur ur own good! bahaha!”
sanji’s a mess, howling and rolling on the floor. zoro crawls his way to the blonde and attempts to flick him in the forehead but the spiral of sanji’s eyebrow makes him too dizzy.
The quiet countryside, the welcoming village folk, the sunlight that seems to pour into every single room! He adores his new home.
It’s over 2 hours from Sumeru City and he knows it’ll be hard being away from his friends but he can’t help but be so excited for this new chapter.
He’s made enough of a name for himself now that the contracts have poured in. He actually gets to /pick/ the ones he wants to work instead of slaving away and trying to accommodate every mundane project for mora.
Archons, he’s completely in love with his life right now.
in which mutual pining and confessions go very wrong ;;
alhaitham, his handsome junior, had confessed to him.
and kaveh laughed in his face.
it was the first week back since summer interim and Kaveh was busy as ever when a small … scholar came to his known study spot in the house of deana.
“Excuse me, senior. Can I have a moment?”
“Sure,” the blonde smiled, always happy to help another, especially a junior scholar
“I like you.”
…huh?
Kaveh finds himself blinking in stunned silence. He’s gotten confessions before but normally from scholars he’s interacted with a least /once/ before. He’s never so much as seen this fellow before.
“Um.. pardon?” His voice too squeaky for his liking.
