A disturbing incident took place in Shishgarh police station, Bareilly, where five family members of a rape accused were arrested for allegedly manhandling a woman constable and tearing her uniform. Additional Superintendent of Police Rajkumar Agarwal said that Shabbu (23) was accused of rape on March 20, following a complaint filed by the father of the victim. However, his family alleged that he was falsely implicated in the case.
When the police arrested Shabbu on Sunday, his family members--Shabbar, Shahnaj, Tarannum, Fooljahan, and Shaidan--tried to flee the police station with him. During the altercation, they manhandled a woman constable and tore her uniform.
Fortunately, other police personnel intervened and caught hold of the five people, bringing the situation under control.

The victim refused to convert, and the accused, identified as Azmat Ali Khan, threatened to throw acid on her face and kill her. The police have lodged an FIR under various sections of IPC, including rape.
According to the FIR, the victim met Azmat Ali Khan, a resident of Laxmi Nagar, on Facebook in 2016, and they became friends. Their friendship grew deeper, and by 2017 they were in a relationship. The woman has alleged that Khan recorded her video while they were intimate.
